Irish Rover Sportfishing

Just had some prime dates open up in July 13,14,15. Great opportunity to catch summer Kings, Lake Trout and Brown trout.

Sometimes it’s not about catching tons of fish. Today I had two young anglers aboard the Irish Rover, and while the brown trout bite was a little off, patience and persistence paid off. These two worked hard and landed a pair of beautiful brown trout, with one in the 9-pound range.

We even spotted a rainbow in the clouds — a first for me. Henry Ward jumped right in helping set the planer boards, and after a quick lesson, he was able to set them by himself. “Sammy and Brownie” must have brought us a little extra luck today.

What a great four days with the Wescott group fishing the Henderson Spring Classic Derby. All I can say is WOW.

We handled a lot of fish over the four days looking for the right derby fish, but we fell short. It was not due to a lack of effort from Nick, Brian, Joe, and Nick.

We got bumped from the Lake Trout Division by my best friend and teammate, Dave Zangari of “Just One More” Charters. Great job, Dave. We had a plan, and it worked out.

It’s always an awesome time fishing in the Henderson Classic. Thanks to Bill Saiff and the BSO team for the support and insight during derby weekend.
