Vermillion River Rafting Vermillion River Rafting is a company which offer unique rafting trips down the beautiful Vermillion We also have an age restriction set at the age of 8.

Experience the thrill of white water rafting on one of Illinois finest and most picturesque rivers. We begin our rafting season on May 1st and often run to Mid July. Please feel free to call us at (815) 667-5242 with any questions and to make a reservation. You and your friends can have the time of your life as you paddle between the high cliffs and through the rapids on the Vermillon River. We are located just 4 miles south of Starved Rock State Park off Illinois State Highway #178. This rafting trip, although fun for the family is in fact on white water. With this being said we suggest that the rafters have some knowledge and experience with paddling. We will not permit any rafters under the age of 8.

It is with great sadness that we report Vermillion River Rafting will be permanently closed. After the passing of Bob things just haven't been the same and things will be sold off. There will be an open house this weekend Friday-sunday 9am-4pm each day selling off jackets, rafts, paddles, helmets, etc. Any questions please call 815-343-5241.

We are sorry to say we are closed for the season. The water has been too low and it is not looking likely to get more. Thank you everyone for your support as always. Have a beautiful rest of the year and we look forward to reopening may of 2026.
