Recreational Coach, German Ramirez
Q: How long have you coached, and in what age group(s)?
A: About 4 seasons. I've coached U6, U11, and U12, and am currently coaching coaching U6.
Q: Why do you coach?
A: I want to help fill a need, and I like being able to manage how practices go.
Q: Why is soccer important to you?
A: I love the game, and I think more people should play. I want to help grow the soccer community.
Q: Did you play soccer growing up? If so, what position(s)? What did you like about playing?
A: I played in middle & high school. I played every position in middle school, but in high school I was a defender. I just liked playing because I love soccer. It was satisfying in a way that basketball and football weren't--there's just something rewarding about soccer to me that I don't know how to put into words.
Q: What would you say to someone who is on the fence about coaching?
A: It's pretty easy. Especially in the younger groups, you just have to help them move around and have fun. The timing was the biggest concern for me, but it really hasn't been bad. It's easy to get a practice time that fits with my family's schedule.
Q: What is your day job?
A: I work for Cascade Mechanical as an installer.
Q: What are some of your other interests beyond soccer?
A: I like spending time with my family. We like to camp and spend time at the lake.
