Did you know that your Psoas is apart of a coherent chain of myofascia called your Deep Front Line?
When we loose the structural integrity of this line we can experience symptoms like:
✨ high or fallen arches
✨ weakend or tense pelvic floor
✨ restricted breathing pattens
✨ anterior pelvic tilt
✨ back pain/ hip pain
✨ TMJ/ jaw pain
✨ neck tension/ pain
Here’s the good news….
When working with the Psoas it can helpful first to examine the health of your Deep Front Line.
Exploring the inter connectedness this line through a holistic lens can expand the common one-dimensional view of view of “the core” and offer more profound insights into the roots of our pain and imbalance.
Integrative Yoga Method utilizes this greater wisdom when curating our workshops and trainings. Using the body’s own intelligence to reawaken and connect you to your deep core and inner strength, through fascia-based movements, osteopathic release techniques, energetic embodiment, and guided imagery.

Dealing with jaw pain, tension headaches, or TMJ?
Head over to our new YouTube Channel and check out one of our favorite techniques to release tension that can develop in the masseter of the jaw.
The Masseter is tiny, yet powerful and is the main muscle used for chewing as it elevates the mandible to close the jaw. This muscle is notorious for holding tension and is a key player when it comes to TMJ dysfunction, tension type headaches, and grinding of the teeth at night.
Trigger points in this muscle can refer pain to the temples, sinuses and to the upper molars causing tooth sensitivity.

In yoga we call it “Prana”, but there are many names in all cultures. What are some names you are familiar with in your culture? Please share with us🙏🏼
A flowing, vibrant, strong, and balanced life force energy is what makes us healthy. This is what a yoga practice cultivates. You can influence your Prana through conscious breathing practices/Pranayama. Moving your body into different postures creates and encourages a clear channel for your Prana to move and flow. Prana is subdivided into 5 energetic winds or Vayus translated into “that which flows”. Over the next 5 weeks we’ll share a little more about each.

One of the most difficult things to do is surrender…to let go and fall into the abyss of the unknown.
As we move closer to the point of surrender, we are faced with the things we have been running from: fear, pain, guilt, shame, anger, despair, and darkness.
As we move closer to the point of surrender, we feel like the darkness will swallow us up. It feels too big to be contained, or that may lose ourselves in the excruciating pain.
As we move closer to the point of surrender, our bodies start to contract as we repeat stories from the past, present, and future; our way of justifying the defensive response to stay closed and separated.
BUT….as you move closer to surrender, remember that you are courageous and the path of healing is through allowing yourself to feel with new awareness.
AND….as you move closer to surrender, remember that darkness, when approached with compassion and understanding, is a sacred place that can nurture your body, heart, and mind.
Take a deep breath, open your heart, relax your body, and say to yourself, “I am safe to feel”. Let yourself go, allow yourself to fall into the abyss, feeling supported and held in the arms of the familiar unknown. Return home to light and abundance.
Practice takes practice. Let us support you on your journey and help you move towards surrender so that you can heal.
