By now, 90% of people who are trying to get healthy in 2020 have failed on their goal. Below are the top 5 reasons people fail. Which mistake did you make?
You need a personal trainer that will assess your unique situation and create a plan, that will set you on a path to live a healthy lifestyle. We know what you’re thinking….. “Personal trainers are expensive”...... Not True. Below, we have a program for you and a friend, that is less than you spend on Starbucks!
This is a list of the top 5 mistakes most people make, that keep them for getting the results they deserve. Do you struggle with one of these? We want to help you right now! 1) People join box gyms and spend hours on cardio equipment (elliptical, bikes, treadmills, etc.) and don’t see any results. The fact is, cardio is necessary, but strength is most important. Muscle burns fat, so if you want your body working for you, lifting weights is a must. For many different reasons, people avoid weights at the gym. We have all of our clients doing a specific strength program, based on their goals.
2) People want a quick fix and will try the latest fad diet to lose weight.
First, everyone is different, your body processes food differently then your friends. There is no “diet” that works for everyone and will get you long term results. Second, your body is used to what you have given it for years. To expect that you can just wake up on a Monday and completely change, and then stick with that for the long term, is unrealistic. We asses each client individually and gradually make changes to their eating habits, to create long term habits that fit their lifestyles.
3) People set unrealistic goals and do not think long term. “I am going to lose 20lbs”, “I’m not going to eat carbs”, “I am going to go to the gym 5 days a week”..... This is all great, but what if you said, “I am going to change my lifestyle” People who are healthy, lead a whole different lifestyle. We focus on long term goals and gradually change our client’s lifestyles to be healthy and happy.
4) Lack of accountability. Too many people try to go at it alone, using willpower to make all the right choices. Will power is great, but you need more. You need someone who can hold you accountable until the healthy choices become a habit. This takes time. Having a personal trainer will give you someone to push you. And now, we are encouraging you to do this with your friend. Take this journey with someone you can trust to have fun with, push you, encourage you, and lean on.
5) People don’t get results because they simply do not know what is best for their body. If you woke up one morning and decided you didn’t like your kitchen, you wouldn’t just ask a friend what worked for them, read a couple articles on facebook and then start tearing apart your kitchen….. You would consult a contractor or other another professional that new what they where doing. So why do we do this with our bodies? Before you get started with a major change in your health, you need to assess what the problems are and then make a solid plan on how to fix it.
Whichever one of these applies to you, we have the solutions you need. We want you and a friend to work with us to get results. Teaming up with a friend to get in shape, makes all the difference in the world. The 2 of you will have fun and keep each other on track. We will assess your current situation for the 3 areas we work on: Nutrition, Fitness, and Lifestyle. We will create a custom plan focused on these 3 areas that will give you the tools to change your life. How to eat, what workouts to do in the gym, and what you should be doing outside the gym. You can work out with your trainer up to 6 days a week and we will be working with you one on one outside the gym. After the 28 days, we would love you to stick around. Hey Beyond family, help us congratulate these 4 guys for completing the Concept2 Holiday Challenge during the month of December. In addition to their daily workouts, these guys added in a little extra credit to raise some money for charity and help them crush their fitness goals.
Concept2 offered a challenge were they would donate money to a charity for every person who rowed or skied a 100,000 meters during the month.
Timothy Rooney, Shawn Stahle and Mitch McNamara all completed a 100,000 meters, while Brad Pazoureck completed an unbelievable 200,000 meters. Congratulations guys!
In 2020 we would like to do more of these types of things to push people to get outside their comfort zone and really hit their goals. If you want to take it to the next level and need a bit of extra motivation, talk to Mitch. We can get you set up on a challenge that fits you and your goals.
