Today, I had the honor of awarding my friend, student, and teammate Aaron “Rhino” his 3rd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Achievements like this are not earned overnight. They are built through years of consistency, sacrifice, loyalty, and dedication to the journey.

Aaron, thank you for your friendship, your trust, and for everything you do for our team. It has been a privilege to watch your growth both on and off the mats.

Congratulations on this well-deserved milestone. I am proud to call you my student, teammate, and friend.

Good afternoon, everyone. Professor Sampaio here.

With summer finally here, we will be making a few adjustments to our morning schedule at Carlson Gracie Oklahoma / Sandro Sampaio Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school.

Our Early Bird classes will continue as usual on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6:00 AM.

However, beginning immediately for the summer, our Tuesday and Thursday daytime classes will move from 11:00 AM to 9:00 AM.

This adjustment will help accommodate summer schedules while ensuring that our students continue to have consistent training opportunities throughout the week.

We appreciate your understanding, support, and commitment to our academy. We look forward to seeing all of you on the mats and continuing to grow together as a team.

I had the honor of receiving a gift that carries far more than leather and fabric. I was presented with one of the belts of a great friend, one of my black belts who lives in Brazil and teaches at Olaria Atlético Clube.

At 61 years old, he continues to be a true example both on and off the mats. For more than a decade, he has held the #1 ranking position in the Federation of Jiu-Jitsu of the State of Rio de Janeiro, a testament to his dedication, consistency, and lifelong commitment to our art.

As a gesture of friendship, respect, and mutual admiration, he entrusted me with one of his belts so that I could bring it abroad, knowing that our legacy and the spirit of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu will continue to be represented wherever I go.

This belt is much more than a gift. It is a symbol of loyalty, history, tradition, and the bonds that Jiu-Jitsu creates throughout a lifetime.

For me, this belt represents not only his accomplishments, but also the values that Jiu-Jitsu has taught us: respect, humility, perseverance, and brotherhood.

My sincere gratitude for this incredible gesture. I will carry it with great pride, honor, and responsibility.

I had the privilege and honor of being invited by , .rga, and Tia Vera to attend a very special celebration: Jiu-Jitsu belt promotion ceremony at her beautiful academy located in Vogue Square Mall, Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro .

It was truly an honor to be part of such a meaningful occasion and to witness Kyra receive her 5th-degree promotion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from her uncle, Master . Watching this special moment unfold was inspiring and a powerful reminder of the values that make our art so unique.

Moments like these represent much more than belts and degrees. They symbolize dedication, tradition, family, perseverance, and the continuation of a legacy that has positively impacted generations through Jiu-Jitsu.

This was a very special day not only for Kyra, but for the entire Jiu-Jitsu community and especially for the Gracie family.

I would like to sincerely thank Paulo Filho, Flávia Gracie, Tia Vera, Kyra Gracie, and everyone involved for welcoming me so warmly and allowing me to share in such a memorable occasion.

Congratulations to Kyra on this well-deserved achievement and on the incredible work she continues to do through her academy. Your dedication to preserving and sharing the values of Jiu-Jitsu is truly admirable.

May this be just one more milestone in a lifelong journey of learning, growth, leadership, and dedication to our art.

Unfortunately, I could not be there in person due to personal reasons and travel, but I stayed connected with everyone throughout the entire event. I could not be more proud of our athletes, professors, students, and affiliates.
