From no butt to…,BUT if you do resistance training and eat smart yes it’s possible 🍑
2013 ( picture on the left ) :
Recovering from anorexia, doing tons of cardio, afraid of lifting a 1 kg dumbbell, avoiding carbs like the devil and constantly getting cramps.
2023 ( picture on the right ) :
Lifting weights x 5/6 times per week, enjoying at least one pizza per week, flexible dieting, strong af and about to run my first marathon.
This picture probably sums up my favorite fitness b*llsh*t myths:
1. Lifting weights will get you bulky ❌
2. Eating carbs will get you fat ❌
3. If you lift weights you can’t perform well in cardiovascular activities ❌
4. When you are younger, it’s easier to get in shape,be stronger and boost your metabolism ❌

This one was for me ✅
10’ minutes before the start of yesterday’s Athens half marathon I vomited at a cafe’s bathroom. I felt weak, scared and desperately needed to go away. After months and just when I thought it was finally over it was happening again : I was having a panic attack.
I’m sorry but there’s nothing cool or fancy about my race yesterday.
This time I intentionally didn’t share my Bip no with anybody and chose to not have anybody waiting for me at the finish line.
Up until last minute I wasn’t sure if I was going to run…I was not ready physically…but mainly mentally and emotionally.
“Go home and cry, Flavia” I kept whispering in my mind.
“ Or do it for yourself without caring about any PR. What’s the worst it can happen ? “
1:54:22 is 3’ slower than my PB in 21.1 km but given the inclines and my overall state that was probably my best achievement so far.
I could run away but I decided to run through it.
Fitness like life isn’t always rainbows and unicorns. Behind every pr, every achievement, every medal, every liked picture there’s a struggle…and that’s ok.
There will be times when nothing will feel right, when things will get tough and you will feel like giving up…and it’s ok…you can always change your mind, start over, push through, make different choices and go another direction…but whatever you do,do it for yourself !
