Our 3rd Annual Prayer Breakfast was a powerful reminder that when we come together in faith and shared purpose, we can make a lasting impact in the lives of others. About 700 members across our association joined the Summer Sweat Series YMCA 360 challenge, and nearly 200 completed at least 20 cardio workouts throughout the month of June!

We're proud to recognize Lori Davis, a Member Services Associate at the YMCA Healthy Living Center, for being selected as last month's “Mindset Matters” award winner! 🌟

Lori is consistent in proactively offering her help. Her shift falls during a time when the membership desk is less active. If she sees a need, whether it's helping to put the community spaces back together after an event, wiping off tabletops, or something else, she is happy to assist. She also helps by giving potential new members informative tours, providing assistance whenever she can, and maintaining a cheerful attitude.

We're proud to recognize Addison Walker, a lifeguard at Great Plains Family YMCA, for being selected as last month's "You Set the Standard" award winner!🌟

Addison consistently goes above and beyond her lifeguard responsibilities. She is always pleasant, professional, dependable, and on time. The 2026 Lifeguard Games, an annual lifeguarding competition between branches, was held last night at the Ripper Park Pool!
Each YMCA brings a team of lifeguards to compete in races that demonstrate their lifeguarding skills. There are four races during the Lifeguard Games:

• Timed spinal backboard rescue
• Timed passive rescue
• Active rescue + first aid
• Conditioning relay

It's a night of fun, camaraderie, celebrations, and competition, but it's also an opportunity for the guards to apply the same rescue skills they're trained in to keep families safe during peak season.
