A huge THANK YOU to Coach Gibson from NEO for taking the time to come pour into our young men here at John Marshall High School!
Coach Gibson was REAL with our players about the expectations at the next level and what it truly takes to become a successful college athlete and young man. He spoke on much more than football, emphasizing life lessons and characteristics that will help our players far beyond the game.
From eye contact, firm handshakes, confidence, communication, and how to properly present and carry yourself around college coaches, every word shared was valuable. He challenged our players to understand that details matter, and that who you are as a person is just as important as your talent on the field.
What stood out the most was how genuine and relatable Coach Gibson was with our athletes. He took his time, answered every question in detail, and truly connected with our boys. Hearing him reference the recent success of one of our former teammates now earning P4 offers gave our players motivation and proof that the opportunities are there through hard work and discipline.
We are extremely thankful for NEO recruiting our athletes and investing in the future of our program. Special thanks again to Coach Gibson for the knowledge, honesty, and encouragement you brought to Bear Country!

This past Monday, we had the privilege of welcoming Coach Hill and Coach Weaver from East Central to Bear Country! We truly appreciate them taking the time to come recruit and invest in our football players at John Marshall High School.
Their message went far beyond football, they poured into our athletes, built genuine relationships, and gave valuable insight into the collegiate atmosphere and recruiting process. Opportunities like these help prepare our young men for the next level both on and off the field.
Thank you again to Coach Hill and Coach Weaver for your time, wisdom, and support of our program!

Yesterday, we had the privilege of welcoming Coach Widener from Coffeyville Community College to speak with our seniors at John Marshall High School.
Coach Widener poured into our young men with valuable knowledge and real conversations about academics, what college coaches are looking for at the next level, behavior and character, the transfer process, overcoming adversity, and much more. These are the types of conversations that help shape young men beyond the game of football.
We truly appreciate the time, wisdom, and encouragement shared with our players. It means even more knowing Coach Widener is connected to the rich tradition of the โOld John Marshallโ and lives by the saying: โOnce a Bear, Always a Bear.โ ๐ป
Thank you again for investing in the future of our program and our student-athletes!
