Linda Valadez - A Force of Nature!
It’s been a week since the Big Dam Bridge (BDB) Ride in Little Rock AR, and we want to celebrate a special performance on the 105-mile ride by Linda Valadez, who was riding the BDB for the first time! She said she started out with fast riders but was only able to stay with their 20 mph pace for 20 miles! She mostly rode solo the rest of the way, except when she was joined by a group of “burly” riders from Texas near the end.
Strava claims that Linda rode her fastest 100-mile ride, but I’m sure she’s ridden faster before the inventor of Strava was born. Linda finished FIRST in the 70 to 79 Age Group! She averaged 16.8 mph for the entire 105 miles including stops, averaging an incredible 18.2 mph on the bike! More amazingly, she finished in top-35% of all riders (men and women) and top-20% of all women! She was 6th fastest of all women up the steep climb on Wye Mountain!

If you haven’t registered to 2025 OBS Streak:
The Streak raises funds for Helmets 4 Kids, the only fundraiser by OBS. The registration cost is $40, and we don’t raise the price to get you to commit early. If you are not available to ride that day or worried it might rain, you know that we host a ride almost every week throughout the year, be it in Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter, training ride, casual ride, or neighborhood tour.
I’ve attached a composite of the rides that we’ve offered on Saturdays and Holidays so far this year. We touch all corners of the metro and beyond. One way or another, you can get your ride with us!
On behalf of our cadre of dedicated OBS Ride Leaders, I invite you to ride with us this Sunday at the OBS Streak. We’ll make sure you have a great time! Register now @ bikereg.com/obs-streak

There’s a very important bill before the Senate and the House, The Ebike Act (S881, H1685), that could provide you or someone you know a federal tax credit for up to $1,500 for purchasing an Ebike or Etrike. This bill can greatly aid someone needing transportation to get to work, run errands, or exercise more at an affordable price. Senator Lankford's Washington phone number is 202 -224-5754. Representative Hern can be reached at 202-225-2211 or locally at 918-935-3222. You can email Lankford at https:// www.lankford.senate.gov/contact/email. But, unless you live in Representative Hern's district, you may call him only. Not quite sure what to say or for the full article check out February’s Pathfinder here:
