We are proud beyond words to honor Wes Welker '00 as a member of the inaugural Charger Athletics Hall of Fame class.

Wes fueled the first football state title in Charger history and still stands atop the leaderboards, holding 8 career and 4 season records. In addition to becoming the 1st of 7 Charger athletes to earn Gatorade Player of the Year honors, Welker was also a track state champion and All-State soccer player.

Wes went on to a remarkable NFL career as one of the most reliable and prolific wide receivers of his generation — but long before the bright lights, Wes was a Charger.

His story of self-belief, humility, and grit reminds every young Charger that the hard work you do here matters — and that greatness starts at The Hall!

The heart of our Charger family.

We are thrilled to honor Shirley Webster as part of the inaugural Charger Athletics Hall of Fame class!

During her 3 decades as a coach, Shirley built the Charger volleyball dynasty with 508 wins, 5 state championships, and 6 runner-up finishes. She also guided the slow-pitch softball team to 258 victories including the 1997 state title. Shirley facilitated the Middle School Olympics for years – and continues to serve as a game-entry attendant and scoreboard operator at The Hall.

Shirley represents the very best of what it means to give yourself to a community. Her dedication,
warmth, and unwavering belief in Heritage Hall student-athletes have made her a true Charger
Legend.
