Gained 40 yards w 7 iron! Actual conversation w Andrew Washington during his lesson. More distance is just not for the kids - Andre is about to retire and he’s getting a running start on his game ( bad math on my part -86 yards vs 126…. :)
But the rest of it is 100% correct ! Anything’s better than a slice! .s.kidsgolf

“Anything is better than a slice” ANYTHING! These numbers were TM numbers from Maize S. She is a 14-year-old golfer from the west side Okc.. She came out for a lesson this week and the numbers on the left.(103 mph ball speed) is when the lesson began. After about 30 minutes, changing her swing and getting rid of the slice look at the ball speed on the right.-122! You may be able to read my chicken scratches in red below- 19 mph times 3 yards gained for each 1 mph.. She gained 57 yards.! Reply here if u want to get rid of ur slice - I can do that . Can’t promise 57 yards just to be clear . Reply here w ur phone number if ur serious . .pga.com

SIGNING DAY — Will Whorton from Community Christian in Norman signed w one of the Top D2 schools in the country - UCO right here in Edmond! Such a great day to be there w his family celebrating . Here’s a little backstory on how he got there - he was becoming a really good ball striker about 18 months back but just wasn’t shooting really low scores — for all u aspiring players know that to get to this level you to address all the parts - swing, mental game , fitness, shotmaking and club fitting. To his credit Will bought in to what was the missing link ( most players don’t do what he did ) it took him quite a few tournaments to apply it but he figured it out … won State last year by 15 shots leading his team to their 3rd State Champioship in a row . Maybe 4th this year along w those two big dudes in the back row of the photo — Jackson Kennedy on your left and Carson Montgomery on the right . Some days are better than others ! .pga.com

Another one of my favorite days watching my players sign their scholarships. This is Juliana Hong from Norman North. Signing with Columbia University in New York City.! not too many get to sign a D1 Ivy League school. She is such a hard worker that I’ve had to put her on a limited pitch count at times because she hit so many balls.. She’ll be one of the favorites for the State 6A championship coming up in May. nstagram

No trophies here yet, probably soon to be though. This is Anna, she goes to school south of Oklahoma City area and is the class of 2028.. She was out for a lesson today and we measured her driver clubhead speed. We measured it in June 2025 and it was 86 mph… we worked on some swing things to get her more speed( that is just about my number one priority with kids) and turns out she was a great practicer following the lessons carefully. About November, I gave her some simple exercises to do, box jumps, push-ups, pull-ups, all body weight stuff. On March 6, 2026 we measured her speed again and it was 93.! She came out today for another lesson and told me ” I think I’m faster than it was two weeks ago!” so I went to get TM and as I was walking to get it, I thought yeah sure can’t be too much speed in two weeks time, but I trust athletes a lot of times they can tell what’s going on.
99 mph ! BOOM! Went from 86 to 99 in 9 months— that’s gonna be more than gonna be a gain of way more than 60 yds!!!!!

I watched Ludvig Aberg play 2 days when he beat Drew Goodman by a shot ! This is him today on the first tee at The Players. Leading by 3. Could be the biggest win in his career. Here’s my point — look at his pre-shot routine and how quickly he takes the club back once he addresses the ball. Less than one second.. He did the same exact thing a few years ago when I watched him.. mental game lesson - no thinking once he addressed the ball and same routine, no matter the situation! If your tournament player and you have not addressed your middle game, specifically these things I mentioned you have a tough time under pressure. A great Mental Game can be learned.- . Send me an email at [email protected] only if ur serious about building a nail tough metal game. # .pga.com
