We are ready for the 131st Academy Martial Arts promotion exam this Saturday!!

Academy Martial Arts will conduct its 131st promotion test on Sat, May 30th, starting at 9am.

The 6 test candidates will be testing for degrees ranging from 3rd degree black up through 7th degree black. All test candidates have many years in at their current belt level and they will be required to perform all of the AMA syllabus material from white belt up through the black belt level they are testing for.

Black belt essays are being submitted, variations to the core self defense syllabus are being developed and performed for the head instructors, all forms, kicking exercises, basic exercises, self defense techniques from punches, grabs, chokes, kicks, knives, & guns are being practiced.

Very sad news today. GM Chuck Norris has passed away at the age of 86. Carlos Ray ‘Chuck’ Norris was born here in Oklahoma in 1940 and he began his martial arts training in 1958 while stationed in South Korea, earning his black belt in Tang Soo Do.
GM Norris was a pioneer tournament fighter, one of the early guys to showcase effective kicking skills, earning many national and world championships. He was a 6-time undefeated world professional middleweight karate champion with 183 wins, 10 losses, and 2 draws. He was a highly respected grandmaster, martial artist, author, and actor and he was one of the truly good guys out there.
RIP sir. God bless his family. 👊🏼
