Two heads are better than one — but only with a plan.

True that
Never underestimate a guy carrying a revolver.
Today won’t be his first rodeo.
A quick shout out to the principal who disarmed a gunman inside of his Paul’s Valley High School. Whether training, a sense of responsibility, or sheer grit, he got it done and that’s more than I could say for many people.
Disarming is chaotic. There are few things as scary as having to disarming an armed man, But there are some simple techniques we can train to gain a lot of tactical advantage.
Breaking the problem down into smaller pieces helps to prevent panic and cognitive overload. Also- and I can’t overstate this, knowing what to do before it becomes necessary.
The first problem is the muzzle. The business end of the gun is all that matters at first. Whether you are in close proximity or not, if the gun is pointed at you, you have to fix that first.
When the struggle begins, the gun is going to fire. Expect that. If it doesn’t great but assume it will. That’s problem number two.
Now, think less about fighting over the gun and more about controlling techniques. If you control the persons movements you can control the gun, disarming becomes easier and it will be less likely that you or someone else will be shot.
Most attackers don’t expect others to have the technique or courage to attempt a disarming. They expect fear and compliance. Surprise is your friend.
Violence of action- this is the nuke that ends all fights. Overwhelming intentional force brings problems to a quick end.
This module is part of our defensive tactics and close quarters class. Come train it.
And for the keyboard warriors who will silently disagree , here is a question for you.
Have you ever done it in real life? Didn’t think so.

Bad guys show up where good people convene- to celebrate, to worship, to commune, to remember.
Like cowards they disguise themselves as they infiltrate so called safe ground just to take sucker punches as they run away, hide and observe from a distance the pain inflicted on a superior force they didn’t have the courage to stand toe-to-toe against.
A clever coward is a greater threat that an obvious one.
This is why we train- not just to shoot and defend, but to notice, to predict, to observe patterns and anomalies.
To detect. To deter. And if necessary, to defeat.
It isn’t sufficient just to stand in a controlled environment and fire rounds at a piece of paper at known distances, that doesn’t move, doesn’t attack, and doesn’t think or breath, without fear of consequence or the reality of real world.
So the question is this- how likely is it that you are overconfident in your abilities to not only detect a threat, but to deter and defend against it? What about several?
If you are judging your capabilities to protect your community and, god forbid, your own family based on your most recent visit to the gun range where every action is calculated, controlled, and unopposed…then I’m sorry to inform you the you are missing the point.
And if you ever find yourself in a situation where life depends on your abilities to react in a moments notice, then you will understand. But by then it could be too late.
That’s just cold hard truth.
Come train with us. Become hard to kill. Become the protector, provider and brute force that people you love most are counting on you to be. This is coming from a place of pure love, from the bottom of my heart.
We welcome all true-blues into our community.
Talk soon. - Bobby.
