Not everyday you get to present an athlete for the Hall of Fame. Was honored to present as she was inducted into the MNU hall of fame. There is not better athlete or person to represent what it means to be a hall of fame! My time at MNU was a highlight if my career and it's because of amazing athletes like Bethany.

I'm also now 2/2 on attending Browm family inductions as I was there in 2018 when Bethany's dad Dr. Brown was also honored. πŸŽ‰

Another Hood to Coast in the books. My team just runs for fun but I give it everything I have when I run. My wife took this pic right after I handed off my second leg at about 11pm.

A fun little comparison with my legs last year (route unchanged)

2023
Leg 3 30:13 (6:23)
Leg 15 54:21 (7:33)
Leg 27 46:15 (7:24)

2024
Leg 3 28:38 (6:09)
Leg 15 53:30 (7:22)
Leg 27 45:22 (7:15)

Keep at it. After two weeks of my mileage not quite lining up, its been good to have several days in a row go as expected. Thus morning was recovery pace 8 miles followed by an athlete run of 2x1 mi.

We have been doing solid winter training and my athlete opened up the first repeat just about 10 seconds off their PR, then we doubled back with a solid second mile rep after we recovered. Really encouraging to see athletes work come together. Proud of what they jave done and excited for their racing this spring and summer!

Your training and life will certainly have ups and downs. Consistently trying is how you navigate through to success. So, keep at it!

It's been a minute, but it's time to toe the line this year. Best tip for an A race: Bring together a team of pacers you can't bear to disappoint.

Honestly some of the most fun running in my life!! Find yourself a relay team and have fun.

It wasn't about winning, or awards. It's about doing it with teammates and having a blast.

As per usual, I'm late with results but the last two weekends have been big for Team O Athletes!

Last week in Chicago added to her World Marathon Majors and had another good Marathon, we've come so far since NAIA nationals and her journey is highlighted in past podcast episode if you want to check that out.

Also in Chicago .a.triathlete was set on having an amazing race and she did just that. Taking almost 30 minutes off her spring Boston Marathon time she crushed a 3:16 😲😲😲!!

This weekend was the KC Marathon and half Marathon where Team O had first time half runner Mary and first time full runner David. Both came through with great runs.

I am so proud and inspired by these individuals. Truly the best job in the world.

(OH and I got to take a picture with steeple American Record holder Courtney Frerichs this morning) 😁

What a day!! With the year winding down there are just a few races left for Team O athletes but we've saved some of the best for last.

Barb finished her first full marathon at the young age of 60 today in the Garmin Land of Oz race right here in Olathe. She just wanted to finish but came in under her time goal as well.

As she will tell you the path to your first marathon race day is never linear. There were schedule changes, travel, and a host of other obstacles along the way. However, she kept a positive attitude, remained flexible and got to the start line healthy and ready. I am so proud of her effort today as she fought hard for the finish! πŸ’ͺ🏻πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

So proud of Team O athlete Candy crushing a huge PR for 25k at the Pumpkin Hollar races.

She has seen new race bests at 5k, 10k, and now 25k over the past few months and it has been awesome to see her improvement.

Such a great day for Team O athletes at the KC Marathon races this morning‼️ This was the most athletes Team O has had racing at one time since we started this whole adventure last year and I could not have been more proud.

It is a really big deal when and athlete takes on a new race and we had both and Daniel finishing their first half marathons today!! They both did amazing.

Barb was running the half tuning up for her first marathon next month at the Garmin Olathe Marathon. Katie was running the 10k as she hears up for her next half possibly in December.

Last, but certainly not least, πŸƒ πŸ’¨ was back in action finishing 12th (so fast we barely caught him in the frame πŸ˜‚) overall in the half also en route to his next full in December. Which he trained for in a short amount of time after a break from running and while in his 3rd year as a medical student.

Amazing performances by all of them. It really drives home for me what it is all about as a coach. I truly have the most rewarding job in the 🌎. We may be a small Team but we have the best athletes.
