Last weekend we had 4 athletes represent Agape's Grace, Inc. the Track & Field Special Olympics Kansas event! Coaches Rebekah, Tyler, and Jalynn helped athletes Skyler, Alexis, BJ, and George compete Friday and Saturday. While the weather forced 2 of our athletes to miss out on their 200m run, we had an absolutely incredible time! Huge shout out to our Executive Director, Susan Waggerman, for helping get everything planned out 💜
Also, HUGE shout out to DSP Kalli for helping get a police es**rt organized for the first time ever!
When all was said and done the following places were earned:
Skyler: first in the 3,000 meter run, 5th in the softball throw
Alexis: first in the 25 meter wheeled race, 4th in the softball throw
BJ: first in the softball throw, 5th in the shot put
George: 5th in the standing long jump, 6th in the softball throw

It's crunch time! Special Olympics Kansas State Track and Field is starting this Friday! Today we are showcasing our most dedicated athlete, Skyler!
Skyler has participated in every SOK event we have ever attended since he joined Agape's Grace, Inc. This year he is continuing his tradition of running the 3,000 meter (7 and a half laps!), 200 meter, and softball throw. Skyler is still needing to raise $300 to attend State this weekend. Please stop by The Agape's Grace Thrift Store Tuesday through Thursday (open through Saturday, but we're leaving Friday) to drop off a donation. Or send us a fb message for alternative options 💜

We are continuing our quest for Special Olympics Kansas sponsors and highlighting George! We are so excited that George decided to participate this year after taking a break from competition.
If you're interested in helping George get to State, please send us a message or stop by the Agape's Grace Thrift Store and let us know it's for George! Tax receipts are available upon request. George still needs $350 to be fully funded!

Can you believe it's only 10 days until Special Olympics Kansas Track and Field State? Neither can we! Today we are showcasing our newest athlete with her second appearance at State! Alexis has been with Agape's Grace, Inc. since December 2024. She is an incredible support for her fellow athletes and has been working so hard to overcome and represent Agape proudly!

Hey there, What's Up Wednesday??
Today we are highlighting our absolutely spectacular Agape's Grace athletes who competed in the Special Olympics Kansas Track &Field event a couple weekends ago! This is always such a great time, and we could not pull it off without our amazing weekend staff! In our photos below you will see the athletes Alexis, Cindy, Brendan, Connor, Coal, George, Theresa, Skyler, and BJ. Staff helping that day were Rebekah, Tyler, James, Isaiah, Christy, Debbie, and Tami.

Way to go, Skyler!
For today's What's Up Wednesday, I wanted to highlight Skyler! I have spoken before about how Skyler is our only athlete from Agape's Grace to run the 3,000 meter race at Special Olympics Kansas. While running 7 and a half laps is incredibly impressive on it's own, Skyler has challenged himself to beat his time at Special Olypics last year. During practices in 2025, his average pace for 7 laps was about 25 minutes. With the adrenaline pumping at State, he ran 3,000 meters in 18:36. Well he's been working hard since last June to beat that record for himself at Regionals in April. Yesterday, Skyler managed to run 7 laps in 19 minutes. We haven't even started practicing for Regionals yet. I'm so incredibly proud of the determination and consistency he has shown! Keep an eye out for an update at the end of April to see how well he does at Regionals!

Today we had some all star athletes compete in bowling for Special Olympics Kansas! We could not be more proud of our athletes representing Agape's Grace, Inc.!
Our gold medalists include Iris, Skyler and Brendan.
We have a silver medalist thanks to BJ.
And two fourth place rockstars from Billy and Cody.
Congratulations athletes on a job well done!
