We welcome all of our dancers and families to join us this weekend for the Wheaton Arts Parade on Sunday, September 27! Anyone is welcome to walk with us in the parade, and we would love to have a big group representing our studio.

Here are all the key details for the day:

Parade Walking Details:
Who Can Join: Open to all dancers and family members!
What to Wear: Dancers walking in the parade should wear an old dance costume (or bright fun colors if you don't have an old costume).
Meeting Location & Parade Check-in: The intersection of Grandview Ave & Ennalls Ave. (look for Shannon and other WSD dancers and families)
Arrival Time: 9:15 AM – 9:30 AM (Parade steps off at 10:00 AM).
Parade Route: The parade route marches down Georgia Ave, turns right onto Reedie Dr, and turns right up Grandview Ave, ending near Reedie Dr/Veirs Mill Rd.

Competition Team Performance
Time: 12:30 PM
Details: Stick around after the parade to watch our competition team perform! Please stop by the plaza stage area and cheer us on.
Stage Locations: Festival stages include the Mural Stage (off Grandview Ave), Grandview Stage (corner of Grandview Ave & Reedie Dr), and Plaza Stage (near Reedie Dr & Metro).

Bring Your Friend to Class Week
Dance is always better with friends! We are so excited to invite our dancers to share the fun, passion, and energy of dance class during our upcoming Bring Your Friend to Class Week, taking place September 21st – September 26th across all studio locations.
How to Participate:
-Pick a Class: Dancers can invite a friend to join them in their regular weekly dance class during the week of Sept 21–26.
-Fill Out the Class Pass & Waiver: Every visiting friend must have a completed waiver on file prior to joining us on the dance floor.

As summer winds down, we are getting ready to kick off an exciting 2026–2027 dance season! Classes officially begin on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. As a quick reminder, while classes launch on the 1st, the studio will be closed for Labor Day weekend from September 5th through September 7th.

Are your dancers ready to "Try Everything" this August? We are thrilled to announce a brand-new, 3-day summer pop-up mini-camp series inspired by the world of Disney's Zootopia! Before the back-to-school routines kick back in, give your dancers a high-energy, creative outlet to close out their summer vacation.
Ms. Amanda is teaching those camp classes herself, and she cannot wait to dance with your kids! We are offering these special daytime camps across two separate weeks at our Wheaton and Damascus locations.
CAMP OPTIONS & AGE GROUPS
Bunnyburrow Academy (Ages 3–5) | 9:00am–11:30am Perfect for younger dancers! This session features a fun blend of creative movement, foundational ballet, Judy Hopps themed obstacle courses, and daily custom crafts.
Gazelle’s Backup Dancers (Ages 6–9) | 12:30pm–3:30pm Unleash your inner pop star! Dancers will dive into high-energy jazz and hip hop choreography inspired by the different districts of Zootopia, design their own performance props, and receive a digital video link of their final routine to share with family.
