With discomfort brings growth. If you are not putting yourself in situations that are uncomfortable for you, then you are not adapting or changing to grow beyond this level. That can pertain to working out and progressing beyond the same routine, the same volume of work, the same resistance. Or it could apply to your comfort in social situations or business knowledge. If you keep fight what you fear, you will get strong and more resilient. I am constantly putting myself in situations that I know will not be easy, but they are worth it. Does it get easier? Maybe over time, but then you continue to build from there. If I succumbed to my fears, I would stay isolated and not take chances to connect with people. So I take the challenge. Whats some of your greatest challenges?

Tips to lifes balance and weight loss
1) Eat structured during the week days
2) 6 small meals to include snacks
3) eat protein with each meal
4) eat at least 1x your weight in protein grams
5) stay within a calorie deficit
6) cheat only 1 to 2 times per weekend
7) Eat your highest carb meal as your first meal and after a workout
8) limit alcohol to special occasions and drink non sugar drinks. Spirits vs b**r and use limes lemons and cucumbers for flavor
9) skip the sugar always in favor of a treat baked by you ie... 100 raspberry protein bar , black bean brownie.. etc
10) after a cheat jump back on track to structured meals
11) don't follow trend diets. Instead eat at a calorie deficit using macros. Eating whole foods
12) do cardio to stay heart healthy 30 min x 4 to 5 days per week
13) lift weights at least 3xs a week
14) if this is all too confusing, hire me.

I found this collage which was 2 days out from my last show in Nov 2020 and I have a new appreciation for my work. At 59 years last November, I rarely have an appreciation of my work leading up to a show. Im so wrapped up in the process and looking for how to improve its why we have coaches. We get lost in our heads. Who the heck cares what place I came in. I can't even remember. But today, I look back and feel grateful to those people that support me through the craziness. To those people that are proud of me regardless of my outcome because they know the sacrafice, hard work. Consistency it took to get here. They know who they are and I know who they are. My loyal friends and family and coach. . All I can say is thank you for believing in me and giving me the strength and passion to thrive for 15yrs on stage ! From 45 _ 59.. maybe even 60!

Two days in CT and two days in the gym at the hotel. It’s helpful to always check out the hotel you might be choosing ahead of time to see if they have an acceptable fitness center. If not, look elsewhere. The nice thing about hotel fitness centers is they are rarely used. I have noticed a big difference from a hotel and resort. Resort gyms are used, hotel gyms remain empty. On short hotel stay trips, it's very nice to be able to take your mask off, do your normal routine in the gym and not have people to work around. Second tip, take a few foods to get you through plane rides and the days. Otherwise, you will be making quick impromptu decisions that are not always wise. Even in a short flight to CT, I found the time in the airport and in line for a rental enough time to get out a meal that’s packed and eat it. Otherwise they only hand out carb snacks and airport food is limited to the hours you fly (often not open). Going without food for long periods of time, breeds cravings and bad choices. I'm also very fortunate to have a partner that is into working out with me and eating to stay healthy, We motivate each other! Of course, we ate out on occasion and I had drinks with my daughters in law to be shower, however, I made the best choices I could when not socializing . It doesn’t keep accumulating! Then back on track to structure and the extra indulgences will be melting off in a shorter period of time. I can truly feel the bloat and inflammation the drinks took out on my skin and body. But instead of getting discouraged or hate myself, I am getting back on track today to take care of myself mentally and physically to not fall prey to giving in to the derailment that could happen. Strong body, and strong mind. They must be in harmony. @ Delamar West Hartford - Tesla
