Thanks to our Barn Brat crew last weekend for working hard! We tackled the grass by the sign to make it visible again, 🪣cleaned feed buckets & pans, cleaned off panels, and picked up old hay in Reba’s lot 🌾. Then the girls chose ba****ck barrel patterns for their horse time! 🐴

Thursday students learned the steps to saddling, created obstacle courses and navigated them, discussed considerations for objects according to their horse, and practiced various steering maneuvers! 🤠

Wednesday students beat the heat with building obstacle courses for horsemanship skills, learned about equine body parts and common equine illnesses, and experiencing English riding while working on crossing midline 🤠

🐴Tuesday students worked on ba****ck riding- focusing on the feel of their horse’s body, weight aids through the seat, connection and communication using their whole body.

First time trail riding Shawnee National Forest!
📍Little Lusk Campground
We had a beautiful day ride in Shawnee, perfect weather, and great group of people to ride with- White Squirrel Saddle Club. Thankful to have finally made it after 13yrs of living so close to this vast trail system. 😅 Definitely won’t be the last ride there!
Little Lusk was well kept, friendly owners at the lodge, easy haul in and parking. Guides and horses for rent available.
