Well this is real now. One whole month the doors of Gravity Yoga have been closed. Thank you to those who have supported us by purchasing yoga props & trapezes! It has been lovely to see your faces from six feet away and partially covered up. Lol
And thank you so much for donating on the first round of our GoFundMe campaign. Your support is so appreciated and needed!

I have been waiting to see if government relief funding comes thru before sending out another round of requests for donations figuring other businesses are more desperate than Gravity Yoga. But as time goes by I am finding that my tiny business falls through the cracks. Having no employees no payroll protection is available. And being self employed so far no Employment security is available.
So realistically help from individuals and our community will be needed to keep things afloat.

Looking ahead
For sure we have at least on more month of extreme lack of income. Then when things start back up it will have to be with small classes to accommodate physical distancing. It will take a while to catch back up financially.
So far now this campaign is our life line. The business bank account sits pretty much empty.

I have been hearing from my students that they consider Gravity Yoga an essential business, noticing after a month of no classes how much our classes help out with state of mind as well as body fitness.

I am motivated to keep access available, even if at first the income flow is minimum.
Once we are able to ramp up to full classes we will start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Realistically that could be months and months more.

The next phase will be to reopen fully so we can start back up with our Salsa dance, Ecstatic dance, Drumming groups, & Acro Yoga! (once we can reopen for events we will be feeling a great sigh of relief, events help cover the overhead of this community space)

Of course there is no way to know how the reopening scenario looks. I am trying to keep my eye on the prize, and am finding all kinds of ways to improve things when it is time to reopen.

Stay in touch friends. And if your back if hurting please reach out and let me know. If you are going crazy because you need to hang upside down let me know.

I miss my students and community very much.

I know Gravity Yoga is just one of many small businesses floundering right now.
This time does help give perspective of how small business is the back bone of our community. I can not wait to see all the lights back on and the boards off the windows.
