South Sound Fly Fishers are the Olympia affiliate of the Federation of Fly Fishers. Doors
open at 6:15PM. Casting demonstrations are at 6:30PM.

We are a FFF affiliated club in the Olympia, WA area.General Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month except Decembe at the North Olympia Fire Station.COME JOIN THE FUN! SSFF has been dedicated to the conservation of resources and education in the art,
science and sport of fly fishing for over 30 years. We are a family oriented club with monthly meetings, regular fishing outings,

Our club meetings feature topics such as; specific fishing locations, techniques, flies, fly tying and entomology. Our meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month (except December)
at the North Olympia Fire Station, 5946 Boston Harbor Road NE. Meeting and program
at 7:00PM. Check out our schedule for more info. Board of Directors meetings are held on the 1st Tuesday of each month. These meetings are held at the North Olympia Fire station at 6:00PM

Fly Tying Class Begins Oct. 5

Our Introduction to Fly Tying class will meet Mondays, Oct 5 through Dec 7, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, except Columbus Day.We offer additional tips on Thursday night “lab” sessions Oct 22, Nov 5, Nov 19, and Dec 3, also 6:00 – 8:00 PM.Classes are held at the Oympia Center, 222 Columbia St NW, Olympia.Students receive plenty of individual attention as they learn to tie eight flies....

SSFF Picnic

Big Thank you to Max Doerge for doing his magic on the grill with burgers and hotdogs. Club members filled out the rest of the goodies. It was a beautiful evening. Murray Boulware set up a nice casting golf course to challenge anyone's skills. Afterwards a few of us cast lines into Scott Lake and pulled out a few Blue gill. Just to prove it was as nice as I say, Kevin Angevine provided this video clip.

SSFF Helps Lead Latest Fly Fishing Academy

Several members of the South Sound Fly Fishers Club helped the Northwest Youth Conservation & Fly Fishing Academy conduct this year's session that went from June 20-27. Jared Wood, Kevin Angevine, Chris Tilton , Tobey Anderson , Mike Clancy, Max Doerge, Jim McAllister, and Bruce Decker helped with fly tying, casting and even some good cooking! Colin Hitch was selected by the staff and gillies as being the "the fishing partner that everyone treasures"....

Remember that starting this month we will meet at the South Bay fire station, 3506 Shincke Road NE,Olympia, WA 98506. Club Officers will be serving up hot dogs, hamburgers, and water. Bring a potluck side item and your own drinks. Alcohol is strictly not allowed in accordance with fire station policy and our usage agreements we sign with them every year....
