Hello Ram Families...

This is my favorite email to send out each year! Welcome to another amazing RAMS football season. It has been far too long.

Reminder that tomorrow night is our annual Meet the Coaches Night at Chinook Middle School in Lacey. That will begin at 6:00 for all Rams. We will have a fairly quick franchise huddle where I will introduce the Board and the Head Coaches. I will also award gift cards to our previous winners (Titus Whipple and Payton Chapman), as well as announce the two final winners (our full football scholarship and Dick's Sporting Goods gift card - must be present to win). After that, we will split off in to teams so that your coaches can go over information for the year, check your equipment to ensure that it fits properly, put names on tape on helmets, as well as let the kids get to know (or reacquaint with) each other.

PLEASE HAVE YOUR FOOTBALL PLAYER (2-8 grade) IN FULL GAME GEAR. This includes game pants (black), shoulder pads, 7 pad girdle, and helmets. Flag football players and cheerleaders will not be in full football gear.

Thursday is our first official football practice for our 2-8 graders. PLEASE NOTE that Flag Football does not start until August 13th. Thursday is our annual combine practice and takes place in South Sound Stadium (the stadium between Chinook Middle School and North Thurston High School). The combine drills are only for our football players. Our cheerleaders will be practicing in the east end zone (closest to Chinook), but will not be taking part in the combine drills. Please note that parents are not allowed down on the field, but are invited to sit in the stands, or stand outside of the fence. For this practice, please come in shorts and a t-shirt. You can wear cleats or running shoes to this practice, both are acceptable. Also note, water is the ONLY drink allowed on the field for players. It is expected to be in the mid 80s that day, so please have your participant start hydrating now and bring plenty of water with them on Thursday.

If you are a football player in 2-8 grade and still have not received your gear, there is a gear checkout this Saturday from 10-2 at the warehouse. Please note that next week is the beginning of full gear practices, so you will need to get your gear before then. If you are out of town, I will work with you on an individual basis to get you your gear when you get back in town.

Previous Bulldog families, looks like there will not be a Bulldog team this year (maybe never again), however, if you sign up with your original franchise and they are unable to field a team, you have the option to move up to the next level or ask to be released to join another team. So, with that said, The Rams and Hawks both seem to have teams brewing. I wish you all luck in your future endeavors and would love to see the boys continue their love for football.

If you are looking for another sport to keep you busy in the off-season from football, look no further. The Black Hills Youth Baseball program is looking for scholar atheletes to join its program.

Reminder, tonight is your final chance to return football gear. The warehouse will be open from 6-7 for all Rams and Bulldogs to return gear. Please note this is the FINAL gear return. If you do not have gear turned in tonight, the league will be issuing fines at the end of the month.

Reminder that we have a Ram and Bulldog gear return tonight at the warehouse from 5:30-7:30. Please remove all helmet stickers and clean your helmets. If you cannot make it tonight, the league will be having gear returns on 11/3 and 11/10. Please make plans to return gear on one of those three dates. Fines will be issued by the end of November for any outstanding gear.

Please remember that we have our end of the year party this Thursday from 6-8 at Boomshaka! All football players and siblings are invited to attend. The Ram and Bulldog cheerleaders have also been invited to attend. Please remember to fill out your waiver (found on the Boomshaka website) and bring it with you. Pizza and water is being provided to the football players.

The SV Rams will be meeting at 6pm upstairs.The SJV and MV Bulldogs will be meeting downstairs at the same time (one in each of the rooms). At 7pm the MJV and Minors will be meeting in the downstairs rooms.

And just like that, the season is over. It has been one heck of a ride as a Bulldog.
