🏆❤️ CHAMPIONSHIP BOUND! ❤️🏆

Congratulations to our 6th Grade Bulldogs on winning the Hardwood Classic Championship in Sioux Falls!

Even though we were short-handed this weekend, these young men and young woman showed up ready to compete. They refused to make excuses and instead chose to rise to the challenge. That is what championship teams do.

At the beginning of this season, I told our players this was a new year and that we were going to play winning basketball the right way. We would be tougher. We would be more resilient. We would play together as a team. We would learn how to think the game instead of simply running up and down the court playing the game.

This championship is the result of that commitment.

I want to give a special shout-out to our leaders, Sutton Munson and Sam Castillo. These two young men were the rocks their teammates leaned on when the pressure was at its highest. Their leadership, toughness, and willingness to put the team first helped set the tone throughout the tournament.

I also want to recognize every player on this team for accepting my hard coaching style and trusting the wisdom and experience I bring to the game. Every correction, every challenge, and every difficult conversation comes from a place of wanting to help you reach your strengths, unlock your potential, and become the best basketball players and young men you can be. Your willingness to be coached is one of the biggest reasons for your success.

A special thank you to Coach Jeff for stepping in and coaching two games when I wasn’t available due to scheduling conflicts. Much respect to you, Coach. Your willingness to step up when the team needed you is greatly appreciated and did not go unnoticed.

Lastly, I want to thank our parents. Thank you for trusting me to coach your children. I know my coaching style can be demanding at times because I refuse to lower standards. I believe in holding these young men accountable, pushing them beyond their comfort zones, and preparing them for challenges both on and off the court. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to help shape and develop them.

Last but not least our 8th grade team for finishing 2nd 🥈

This championship wasn’t built on talent alone. It was built on toughness, discipline, trust, sacrifice, resilience, and teamwork.

The Bulldog Way is alive and well.

Keep what you earn.
Earn your keep.

Proud of every one of you.

This season, I challenged my 4th grade national team to compete in a 5th grade Gold level league to prepare them for their national spring–summer tour.

Some would say, “They’re a great 4th grade team, but 5th grade Gold is a tall task.”
They’d say, “We don’t expect them to win—it’s just good experience.”

I say—and my dogs say—we didn’t move up to exist.
We moved up to eat.

We didn’t come to stand down.
We came to stand up.

We didn’t come to show respect.
We came to take it.

That’s Big Dog Mentality.

Some will call it cocky.
Some will call it arrogant.

We call it supreme confidence—and we don’t care who it offends.
Never let your confidence shrink to fit someone else’s comfort zone.

There is nothing in life too big or too much when you are emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and physically prepared for it.

When children know who they are, no one in this world can tell them who they are not🔥❤️
