Every year, there is a moment you get to take in and enjoy that makes you extremely proud. Yesterday was one of those days.

In the middle of running an organization and navigating all the excitement the season presents, along with coaching some of the best kids you will ever meet, we were able to enjoy watching our 6th-grade fundamental team play.

This team is led by Ryder Gerhardt, and our 7th-grade Metro team is led by Logan Johnson. They and their coaching staffs are almost completely made up of former Millard WestFootball players. They do not get paid, and they do not have children in the program. They love where they played ball, they love football, and they love teaching these Jr. Wildcats. They understand this is part of the foundation to seeing Millard West playing in Memorial Stadium year after year very soon!

We are so proud of them for giving back and developing these young men. You know you are special when you have Mr. Jackson in attendance getting the fans fired up!

By the way, this team is a "fundamental" team in class. The way they are coached, it is clearly evident they are receiving excellent development and they are having a blast! Way more than fundamentals.

The cherry on top was a goal-line stand to get the win.
