Reminder for the 2026 deer season!

For the 2025 deer season, changes were made to the boundaries of the deer management units (DMUs) in the Northern and Central Forest zones. Minor changes were also made to metropolitan sub-unit boundaries. The Farmland Zone units were not reviewed, but a few of the boundaries were modified because of other changes made to the forest zones.

DMUs in both Northern and Central Forest zones are labeled with a number (as opposed to a county name), and the Farmland Zone DMUs will still be denoted by their county names.

Hunters will need to know their management zone and DMU number/county when purchasing an authorization/license or registering their deer in their Go Wild account.

If coming to Omro from Oshkosh via car - be sure to avoid Hwy 21 - round-about construction galore so don't attempt that way. Recommend taking Cty E West to F and take that North into Omro. Alternatively go up to Winneconne and then drop down into Omro on Hwy 116.
By boat - well no issues there at all - great trip on the Fox River from the lake - just remember to stay on plane transitioning from Buttes De Mortes to the mouth of the river - then you should be good go from there - follow the nav buoys!
