52 years!!

Driftys would like to give a shout out to this LEGENDARY group that just finished their 52nd consecutive year(33 with me at Driftys) of Kickapoo River fun.

What started out as a group of college friends at UWL that decided to float the Kickapoo in 1975 has turned into an annual event here on the Kickapoo.

These guys started out as customers and have become friends over the years. In the earlier years, they kept this canoe boy out late at night having fun. From sleeping in my busses in the early years, spending the day sitting in canoes at the Driftys shelter when the river was too high, staying on the river until midnight and reaching out to me personally when they seen a need are some of the many memories i will always keep with me.

Late May and early June is one of the best times to float the river. The mid-summer crowds have not arrived yet, little to no bugs and a better chance of seeing wildlife in person.
