Ooltewah Owls Golf Team

Two of our Ooltewah Owls earned spots into the Chattanooga Junior Classic last week at The Honors Course in Ooltewah, TN. Senior Tyler Tate got the opportunity to enjoy all of The Honors and then some as he took his match play opponent to the 21st hole before falling short. Junior Delaney Ratchford ended up shooting 85 in day one and won her semifinal match 2&1. She came back for the championship match the following day and ended up losing the match on the 17th holes to take home Runner-up trophy in the event.

The Ooltewah Owls wrapped up the 2022 golf season yesterday with sophomores Delaney Ratchford and Bailey Greene competing in the TSSAA Class AA State Championship at Sevierville Golf Club as individuals.

Delaney Ratchford posted rounds of 74 and 77 to finish tied for 6th. Bailey Greene, in her first trip to State, finished with back to back rounds of 97. Congratulations to both of you on a great season. Go Owls!!

Both Ooltewah teams competed in the Region tournament today at Bear Trace.

The girls played really well and were Runner-Up as a team, losing to Cleveland by 1 stroke. Delaney Ratchford was individual Region Champion with an 82 and punched her ticket to State along with sophomore Bailey Greene who shot 92 today, good for 4th as an individual. Senior Alexis Roth had another amazing round today shooting 96.

The boys came up short today but had a great season overall. Tyler Tate with an 81 and Ryan Moser with an 82 were the highlights for the boys team today.

Postseason play started today for the Owls golf teams and both came away with some hardware.

The Lady Owls repeated from last year as Division 1AA District 6 Champions. The girls won by 29 shots as a team. Delaney Ratchford was low medalist winning the individual championship with a score of 85 and senior Alexis Roth came in second individually with a 95. Sophomore Bailey Greene came in 4th as an individual with a score of 100. All three girls move on to the Region Tournament next Tuesday at Bear Trace with a chance to go to State.

The Owls took this years Runner-Up trophy for Division 1AA District 6 behind East Hamilton. The boys were led by Tyler Tate who shot 74 and came in 4th individually. Senior Matthew Reeves shot 78 on the day followed by Junior Ryan Moser who shot 82. Jacob Denham shot 86 giving the boys a team score of 320. Senior Dylan Keith shot 87 today for the Owls. All Owls move on to Region next Tuesday with a chance to move on to State.

Both the Owls and Lady Owls took on Soddy Daisy this evening at Creeks Bend and both left with the WIN.

The boys were led by medalist Tyler Tate who shot 38, followed by a score of 40 from both Ryan Moser and Jacob Denham. Dylan Keith shot 41 for a total of 159. Matthew Reeves shot 42.

The girls beat Soddy with a score of 83 to 99. Delaney Ratchford was girls medalist with a 37 and Bailey Greene shot 46. Alexis Roth played solid with a 51 on the day.

The girls have one more match this Thursday against Boyd Buchanan. The boys and girls have District next Tuesday 9/20 and Region on 9/27. Let’s go Owls!!

Both the Owls and Lady Owls had a match Thursday evening taking on Silverdale Baptist, Signal Mountain and East Hamilton.

The girls were victorious beating all three teams with an overall score of 89, led by low medalist Delaney Ratchford who shot 41. Bailey Greene played well and shot 48, and Alexis Roth 61.

The boys came up short unfortunately and shot a team total of 170. Ryan Moser and Matthew Reeves shot 42 and Tyler Tate and Dylan Keith both shot 43. Jacob Denham shot 45 for the day and Travis Burt shot 50.

One more match to go for both teams and then it’s time to get focused for District and Region and hopefully State. Let’s go!!

Two of our Lady Owls and four Owls competed in todays Chattanooga City Prep tournament at Bear Trace at Harrison Bay today.

Delaney Ratchford came in third overall for the girls individual tournament shooting a +8 80 and was named to the All-Tournament team. Alexis Roth shot 121 for the day.

Ryan Moser led the Owls with a +7 79 with Tyler Tate right behind at +8 80. Senior Dylan Keith shot +12 84 and Jacob Denham +25 97.

Both the Owls and Lady Owls took on Rhea County this evening and both teams won the match.

Tyler Tate was overall low medalist with a 37, followed by a 43 from Ryan Moser, 45 from Travis Burt and 46 from Dylan Keith. Great playing guys.

The girls played into the dark led by overall low medalist Delaney Ratchford with a 44, followed by Alexis Roth who shot 54 and Bailey Green with a 57.

The Lady Owls got the victory today over CSAS and CSLA with Bailey Greene shooting a career low score of 45 with a birdie on the last hole. Delaney Ratchford was overall low medalist with a 40. Great playing ladies.

The Owls took the W as well over the same teams at Brainerd this evening with a season low score of 155. Tyler Tate and Dylan Keith led the charge with medalist honors, both shooting 37 while Matthew Reeves shot a 39 and Jacob Denham 42. Travis Burt played well shooting a 43.
