As of now, Hamilton County has not issued any cancellations for after school activities today, Thursday the 26th. Unless they do so, Ooltewah classes will remain open. If, however, anyone feels unsafe traveling to class because of the weather, we will offer make-up classes for today. Contact the office if you'd like to schedule a make-up.

Dreaming: Changing a Generation

You can’t imagine what God has in store- it’s too BIG. Trusting in a God you can’t see is scary. But there is no other adventure worth living. Unity started as a dream. A call to change a generation - to call out self-worth, dreams and true potential in the lives of those around me as well as the next generation. As director of Unity Dance Studios, I am proud to say that I followed my God-given dream.

My husband and I run Unity with a mission: to pour into every life that we can and to “account” for people’s ability. We are convinced that young people need to be reminded who they are and remember the GOOD that is inside of them. That is the only way that GOOD will grow inside. Constantly call out someone’s downfalls and shortcomings and eventually they themselves will start to believe that they are made of nothing more. Growing up in the dance world, this discouragement and competitive philosophy is rampant. You’ve seen the TV shows. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

I truly believe that we can live in a culture of honor.

We are thermostats. Not thermometers. We have the capacity to SET the climate of our environment. We all know people who can “read the climate” of the room/church/community and judge it. But can you change it? We are called to remind people of their God-given gifts and talents. Allowing people to operate in their greatest calling IS to allow them to do what they were created to do.

That is why UNITY is one of the greatest functioning bodies/communities I have ever been a part of. When you let people thrive in what they do best, it becomes natural to encourage, uplift and honor each other.

I have never been more proud to call UNITY my family and my home. This did not form over night; we have labored together to build this community for over 8 years. We are so happy to be able to offer excellent classical dance training without sacrificing any bit of principle. Bring your students to an environment where they can thrive.
