Naranjita is a dance studio built just for flamenco - to promote the art form and to share our love of it. We hope to centralize flamenco learning so that we become a great resource for people who crave to learn more about it. We have lots of ideas and big plans on how to bring flamenco to Orange County. Understanding the Relationship Between Cante and Baile
This special workshop brings together acclaimed flamenco singer Marián Fernández and celebrated dancer Lakshmi Basile “La Chimi” to explore the essential relationship between flamenco singing and dance.
The workshop is designed for both:
Singers who want to learn how to sing for dancers
Dancers who want to better understand and respond to the cante
Together, Marián and Lakshmi will explore how the singer and dancer communicate, how the cante shapes the structure and emotion of the dance, and how singers can learn to recognize and support the dancer’s movement, phrasing, and cues.
For dancers, this is an opportunity to become more familiar with the cante and develop a deeper understanding of what to listen for while dancing. For singers, it is a chance to learn how the cante functions specifically in relation to baile.
This workshop offers a rare opportunity to study both perspectives at the same time, guided by two extraordinary flamenco artists.

We are VERY excited to announce that famed singer Cristo Cortes, Gypsy flamenco singer, will be appearing at our Tablao on September 19th with an incredible and powerful cast of artists. Cristo is appearing at various events in California and graces our stage for the first time.
Cristo Cortes will be joined by:

Cristo Cortés is currently recognized as the leading French flamenco singer, respected and sought after by numerous artists worldwide. His unique vocal timbre and deep knowledge of the flamenco art form—encompassing singing, dance, and guitar—combined with extensive stage experience and outstanding personal qualities, make him an exceptional artist.
Born in Marseille in 1971 into a family of singers hailing from the Almería region of Andalusia, he is sought after by most professional dancers in both France and Spain, including Andrés Marín, Soraya Clavijo, Joaquín Grilo, La Farruca, José Galván, Fuensanta la Moneta, and Carmen Ledesma
