Hippocrates said all disease starts in the gut…while some medical practitioners may argue that NOT all diseases start there , MOST, especially functional medical ones do agree that feeding your micro biome the right mix of nutrient dense foods can keep your immune system strong and healthy. Fermented foods are something you should include in your diet. Things like kraut, kimchee, kombucha, olives, pickles, kefir, cocoyo, plain live yogurt or other fermented vegetables. These foods balance the bacteria in your gut while also aiding in digestion and absorption of food. I constantly rotate and mix up what I take on a daily basis in addition to a daily probiotic. The photo below is my current regiment.

Are you using fermented foods? If so, what are some of your favorites? If not, what would you be willing to try? Comment below ⬇️

Dinner tonight…grass fed grass finished NY strip steak, organic purple sweet potato with a little Vermont maple syrup and Ceylon cinnamon and a side salad with organic butter lettuce, tomato and orange pepper! When you feed your body good quality nutrient dense food you feel ahhhhhmazing. 😋🙏❤️

First meal of the day after fasting for 20 hours…3 pasture raised eggs scrambled with organic onion and broccoli. And a half an apple. Healthy and delicious. 😋

"A Health Coach is someone who facilitates healthy, sustainable behavior change by challenging a client to listen to their inner wisdom, identify their values, and transform their goals into action. They help clients gain the knowledge, tools and confidence to become active participants in their health (which includes food, stress, relationships, mental health, careers, past traumas, etc) so they can reach their self identified health and wellness goals."

As many of you know I have been on my own health and wellness journey for quite some time now. If I'm being honest, it has always been at the forefront of everything I am and do. From the time I was 12, I heard over and over the phrase, "if you have your health you have everything." These words were often spoken by my beautiful mother who sadly was diagnosed with RA when she was only 42 years old. Most of my childhood and into adulthood I watched my mother fight this debilitating disease. At times it would break her down so bad she would just cry and lay in bed. I'm not going to lie, as a child it scared me to death. I often worried silently that she would die from it and I didn't want to do anything that would upset her. Unfortunately, my mom did pass away at the young age of 60. I do believe it my heart it was a combination of the RA and all the medication she was on for so many years. She is and always was my guiding light and my inspiration and one of the most important reasons why I am so passionate about helping others live a healthy life.

As a certified Functional Health Coach my goal is to guide my clients to explore areas in their life they feel need attention and then make recommendations to help support healthy behavior changes. This covers everything from food choices, movement and exercise, career, relationships, spirituality, etc.

As an active listener I help my clients discover their own solutions and hold themselves accountable for their choices while supporting them in the decision making process.

If you want to learn more, need a little support or guidance and ready to take your health and wellness to the next level you can schedule a FREE 20 minute discovery call to see if we might be a good fit for each other. You can reach me at 845-377-5326 or PM me here on Facebook or Instagram.

Happy Tuesday

BE WARNED!! 🚨 This post might be offensive to some people because it’s true. For those of you that know me know that this comes from a place of love and caring. And let’s face it, the truth can sometimes hurt...

Most people don’t think it’s a priority to spend money on their health and wellness (in other words, “it’s not in my budget”). I’m sure I’m not the first to tell you that there is no money better spent than money you spend on improving and maintaining your health and self development. 💪🏻

Shoes, purses and other material items will always be there. But your health will not if you don’t take care of it! Don’t get me wrong, I love to go shopping too but if you aren’t healthy, do not like how you look and feel In your body, and can’t enjoy life every day the way you want and should, then what’s the point in having those expensive shoes, purses and clothes? 🤔 Trust me when I say that having a healthy mind, body and spirit will bring you MORE happiness that actually LASTS, than a purse, new outfit or pair of shoes EVER WILL.

As a certified functional health coach, a certified personal trainer and a Reiki practitioner I can help guide you on your journey. MBS Wellness Coaching is ready for you!!! PM me or contact me at 845-377-5325. Let’s do it!! 👊🏻❤️

Being mentally strong on a consistent basis has its challenges no doubt. But it doesn’t mean you can’t achieve a level of well being because it’s more about the journey then the destination. We should always be working on ourselves on some level so that we are growing into the best possible version of ourselves.
