This is a great opportunity to celebrate your child’s achievements, highlight team accomplishments, thank a coach or volunteer, place a family or business advertisement, or congratulate this year’s honorees.

Ads can be purchased and submitted online through the Journal Contract:

Guest of Honor — Kevin Lennon
For more than 35 years, Kevin Lennon has been a dedicated member of Rockland GAA, serving in numerous leadership and volunteer roles, including Chairman, Vice Chairman, Field Custodian and Manager. He was instrumental in helping Rockland GAA purchase our field in 2000, with Kevin and his wife, Dympna, among the 24 families who put their homes up as collateral to make the purchase possible. Kevin continues to dedicate his time to maintaining and preparing our fields. We are delighted to honor him as our 2026 Guest of Honor.

Distinguished Service Award — Bernard Ferry
Originally from Donegal, Bernard has dedicated many years to Rockland GAA through coaching and Scór. As Chairman of New York Scór, he continues to help keep Rockland involved in the cultural side of the GAA and represented on the Scór stage. We are grateful for his many years of service and continued commitment to the club.

Congratulations to Sligo on defeating Cavan to win the New York Senior Football Championship and become the inaugural winners of the Jackie Salmon Memorial Cup.

A special congratulations to the seven Rockland GAA players who were part of the championship-winning team - Tadhg O’Riordan, Mike Diskin, Jack Healy, Rory O’Riordan, Brian Coughlan, Dylan Rooney and Garvin Lee. Well done to all!

The annual NYPD vs FDNY Gaelic Football Match is happening TODAY at Rockland GAA! Come out, enjoy a great day of Gaelic football, live entertainment, and support two very important causes.

This year, both teams are playing for great causes:

🔴 FDNY will be raising funds for Lt. Thomas Fitzpatrick, L-41, who is battling cancer and is a father of three young children and a longtime supporter of the team.

🔵 NYPD will be raising funds for Police Officer Riku Sawai, who was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer and is currently undergoing treatment.

Come out to Rockland GAA, support both teams, and help raise money for two deserving members of the NYPD and FDNY families.

No coolers or dogs permitted at Rockland GAA.

25 years later, we remember September 11, 2001.

We remember the innocent lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the families, friends, and communities whose lives were forever changed that day.

Among those we remember is Dennis McHugh, a longtime member of Rockland GAA and FDNY firefighter who lost his life on September 11. Dennis played with Rockland GAA from the club’s early days, progressing from the youth ranks through to senior level. His memory remains an important part of our club, and each year on Field Day, Rockland GAA honors his life by hosting the Dennis McHugh Memorial u8 Tournament.

We remember all those who lost their lives, those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and the countless others whose lives continue to be impacted by September 11, 25 years later.

THE GAA REMEMBERS 9/11
Ahead of the All Ireland Final, Croke Park honored four New York GAA men who died on September 11, 2001, including FDNY Firefighter and longtime Rockland GAA member, Dennis McHugh.

In the picture below, is Dennis (back row, 4th from right) and the Rockland team after winning the Senior B Championship in 2000.
