A great weekend of midget racing !! We would like to thank Tyler of Luce Racing for jumping in the cockpit this past weekend. It was our first weekend working with Tyler, and we were very competitive at both Cottage Grove and St. Helens. We look forward to working with TLR again in the future !! 👍

An interesting July 4th weekend celebration… and it couldn’t have had bigger extremes. The team started out LEADING the Corbett parade. (Thank you Eagle Trailers for letting us use that awesome, new trailer) We were very honored to be asked to kick things off and want give a big “Thank You” to Joy for helping us by throwing out candy to the kids !! After the following car show, the team went strait to central Oregon to compete, where things did not end well…..
While going for the lead, our driver (Walter, who has won countless feature races for us) ended up flipping multiple times. Luckily, even with several cracks in his helmet, he did not end up with a concussion. We thought he broke his collar bone, but after a visit to the hospital, it was determined that he did not……. but he has torn things up in his shoulder and will need season ending surgery. We are wishing Walter a speedy recovery and we’re really glad things were not worse.
While we are not sure if there is such a thing as a “July 4th Jinx”……. Over the last few years, TRE has had some heavy crashes, all over that particular holiday….
The team will go to work repairing damage and will keep everyone updated as we learn more about Walter’s recovery.

A great wrap up to “Speedweeks” with a strong performance at Dirt Cup. A special thank-you to Riley of Deaver Racing for jumping in the cockpit all weekend. Since he never drove a midget car on dirt before, a solid mid-pack finish (both nights) was impressive.
With big names (like Brad Sweet, Rico Abreu, and Aaron Reutzel to name a few) participating in the 410 Sprint Car race, the Skagit Speedway staff did a great job hosting the event. We also want to give a big thumbs up to the NW Focus Midgets staff and all our competitors for a great speed-weeks.
Hope everyone had as much fun as we did !!

After the mower racing division won both heat races this past Saturday, the TRE team has been working hard to get everything ready for the upcoming 4-weekend run. The midget car will be tearing it up the next three, before returning for a two-day race mower show in central Oregon. Here is our TENTATIVE schedule but please check back for updates because (as the expression goes) s**t happens… 😃
Hope to see everyone at the track !!

It’s been quite a busy time of year for the TRE team !! On Saturday the 16th, we ran the midget car down at Willamette Speedway, but unfortunately, after practice and qualifying, the night was rained out. We want to thank Doug from Pirtle Racing for jumping in the cockpit !! 👍
Memorial Daly weekend started out with the midget car at the Oregon City car show. Besides talking with fans and answering questions, countless people sat in the car to have their picture taken (ages ranged from 2 to 72 years old) with over 50 of them being kids !! We even had Jake from “The Verdict” stop by. And we want to give a special shout-out thank you to Angela and Dave for helping at the show!! 😃
From the car show, we went directly to central Oregon and ran the race mower Saturday night at the Grass Car event. Walter Ballow picked up where he left off last year…. Running up front !! Unfortunately, after winning our heat races on Sunday, we had a clutch problem in the final…. So it wasn’t a total clean sweep weekend. The competition has closed the gap, so the TRE staff needs to keep working to keep our competitive advantage. In racing, a few tenths of a second means a lot !! Luckily, we have an upcoming weekend off before 3 race weekends in a row.

May 1st was the start of a busy month for TRE, as we tested with the midget and had our first race weekend on the mower side. Special thanks to Doug at Pirtle Racing for helping us with the initial midget car shake-down at Sunset Speedway. While being realistic that this will be a steep learning curve season, we are optimistic we can consistently run and be competitive.
On the mower side, this season will be a bit different than last year. While TRE dominated with our two drivers going back and forth for the win, this year will be more of a “driver by committee.” Besides Jeff McDaniel and Walter Ballow, we have added first year driver Brooklyn McBee. In her first oval race weekend ever (she is a drag racer) she was able to pull off second place in one of her heat races. Great job Brooklyn !!! 👍
Stay tuned for more updates – we’re looking forward to a great season !!!

Full days and nights inside the TRE shop !! Bodywork is back from the paint booth..... tires are getting mounted up.... and a special thanks to Doug from Pirtle Racing for helping out with some seat fitting and cockpit adjustments. The plan was to test this weekend, but rain has pushed us back. Stay tuned for more updates !!

We are just about ready to start the 2026 season !! “White Lightning” is running and the bodywork is back from the paint booth. Our plan is to test in the next weekend or two….. then it’s off to the races !! 😃
