UPDATED JUNE 3rd- 2:45pm. Season approved as stated below in 2nd image.
Upper Columbia based spring & summer run stock fish are not in peril until otherwise noted outside each management periods’ needs. The lower AND upper CR recreational salmon fisheries operate on three distinct management periods: Spring period, Summer period, and Fall period. The Spring portion management period runs THROUGH JUNE 16th. That is still the current management Structure we’re in and it will be managed as such. The entire lower CR will NOT have a summer chinook fishery at all…. No June hogs, no July either. Nothing until August 1st. That’s a huge loss for the lower river in concerns of summer chinook forecasts.
ID’s hatchery and broodstoock objectives (for one given hatchery that is), have not been met for well over 10 years- so that is nothing new to this years current spring stock & runs and they still get summer chinook fisheries based off of that fact being in the room like they always have, and also they noted the dynamic styles and designs of Columba River fisheries management will always have to be fluid and adjust constantly. This year is NO different in being dynamically able to adjust given the forecasts and management periods. It’s not easy and frankly never has been or never will be….
……………………………………………………………………………….
Spring chinook? Columbia River? More time to fish for Springers possibly? We shall see…. 🙏🏼🎣
Updates posted here as always.

4.5” of angry bird beard….. it’s not quite the full TOM we were looking for to end our Spring turkey season. Buuuut- We’ll take the Jake-a-Saurus-Rex (not quite the 6”), to cap the season. In all, there’s just something about these hunts. The sunrises, the calling, getting some new hunters into it, family, friends and so many more. And not to mention the heavenly eats and table fare that comes of it…. Turkey hunting is just different….. until next Spring, we’ll watch the moms (hens) do their mom thing. 😎🙏🏼

40 years….. yep, this year marks 40 years of the best of the best in Aluminum Fishing boats excellence. And 7 years now of one of the true legends of fishing & advocacy here in the PNW, that left us too soon…. (Soon to be forever memorialized on his favorite river with a tribute at Carver boat ramp) ⚓️🎣
We pay homage to these two absolute icons of the Outdoor and Sportfishing worlds that are now gone, but literally in every sense of the word, not FORGOTTEN. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Interested in recreational Columbia River Spring Chinook fisheries & fishing? A meeting to discuss (a now recommendation to allow for one extra day below Bonneville and two extra days above Bonneville), some recent developments after a slower then usual re-opener last weekend (some inconveniently timed spill related reasons of course), is now scheduled for tomorrow, Tues May 19th after TAC met today to yet again adjust the 2026 Spring chinook run update.
Stay tuned as always & will be updated here…. 🙏🏼🎣
