The depth of Yoga lies in its wisdom, which includes postures, as found in the The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
Below is Sutra 1.33, which describes 4 Virtues for mental peace I have also includwd a recording from a recent retreat, in which the sutra was chanted. (Below)
Patanjali Yoga Sutra I. 33
“Maitri karuna mudita upeksanam sukha duhkha punya apunya visayanam bhavanah cittaprasadanam”
Maitri (friendliness) and Karuna (compassion) are two of the four key virtues from Patanjali's Yoga Sutras 1.33 used to calm the mind and maintain emotional stability. They involve cultivating a positive, non-envious attitude towards the happy (maitri) and empathetic, supportive action toward those who are suffering.
