Say hello to our fearless Backs Coach, CJ! 🏃‍♂️

Originally from Maryland, CJ has been in Orlando for the past five years and officially joined the Otters in August 2025!

When asked why he joined the team, he simply said “I wanted friends.” I’d say mission accomplished (I hope)!

On the pitch, CJ is (mostly) our fullback, though he will fit whatever role we need him to fill. Off the pitch, he’s all about running and searching for wild animals (casual, normal behavior 😌). He’s also a real-life Smokey the Bear: a professional firefighter that prevents forest fires!

Fun Fact: CJ comes from a legendary lineage: his grandparents were professional clowns. So yeah, athleticism and entertainment? It runs in the family.

Check out our May Schedule! We’re shaking things up with a SATURDAY PRACTICE, tomorrow morning from 10am-12pm! Then that evening, please join us for our Otters Stiffy’s Takeover! We will NOT have practice this Sunday.

Later in the month the Otters will be heading up to Atlanta for a match against the Atlanta Bucks Rugby Football Club! We will also not have practice the Sunday after the match.

Feeling déjà vu? It’s Michael (again)!

Originally from Corona, NY, Michael has been in Orlando for 7 years. He joined us for one of our Rugby 101s back in August 2025, and he’s been hooked ever since! When asked why he decided to join the Otters, here’s what he said:

“I came across your 🫵 Rugby 101 posts multiple times, and figured it would be good to take up a sport to stay in shape and to actually join a q***r community after being disconnected from it for a lot of my life.”

We are so happy you found us and you’re a part of our q***r rugby family Michael!

Michael plays outside center for us. When he’s not breaking lines on the pitch, you’ll find him cooking and designing video games (we love a creative king).

Here’s a uh…not so fun fact about Michael: he’s been hit by a car while rollerblading. Safe to say tackling wasn’t gonna scare him off.
