Freedom-Orlando Wrestling

Girls wrestling has been on the rise for years, and it’s showing no signs of slowing down 🚀. At our school, we made a commitment to building a girls wrestling program before many schools even had girls on their roster.

That commitment and hard work have paid off. Since girls wrestling became officially sanctioned in 2022, our program has been a consistent force in the state, finishing 1st, 2nd, 4th, 3rd, and 1st over the last five seasons.

More importantly, we’ve helped create opportunities for young women to compete, grow, and succeed both on and off the mat. The future of girls wrestling is bright, and we’re proud to continue leading the way 🫡

Congratulations to Coach Mikel Bush on being named the Florida Dairy Farmers Girls Wrestling Coach of the Year! This marks the second time Coach Bush has earned this honor.

This recognition is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and commitment of everyone involved in our program. Thank you to all of the coaches, athletes and parents who continue to push our program forward and help make achievements like this possible.

Last night we were recognized at the OCPS School Board meeting for our 2026 team state title! 🏆

We are beyond grateful for the recognition and so proud of this team’s hard work, grit, and dedication that made it all possible. Moments like this make all the early mornings, tough practices, and sacrifice worth it.

Congratulations to Genesis Escoria on her commitment to New College of Florida in Sarasota!

Region 2 showed out at Queens of Florida, proving just how tough this region really is. Huge congratulations to Hananeel, Maya, Paola, Ceajah, Aimar, and Mekialla for representing Region 2 and getting some great wins!

We missed Gabby this time around, but she’s healing up for some upcoming freestyle competitions 💪

Walking in to the wrestling room after spring break and seeing this year’s awards sitting there makes me realize how much was accomplished in 1 season! Thankful for the athletes, parents and coaches who made this year full of amazing accomplishments and memories! Also, shout out to the FL wrestling media for the dedication you put in to covering the stories behind the match-ups. Your work makes this wrestling community stronger 💪

Congratulations to the boys team on an outstanding Metro Conference performance! The team had 10 individual champions and 13 finalists. This is the 10th metro conference championship for Freedom High.
