Unfortunately with the closing of schools and postponement of the lacrosse season- many players will be out of a playing opportunity for awhile. If one of your children or if someone you know has a kid that would like some lacrosse lessons- please let me know!

Could anyone ask for a more perfect day for lacrosse? PSD lax is getting into the season. These girls almost had me in tears today- what can I say, I am a PROUD coach.

1 DAY!!! WHAT?! LACROSSE IS TOMORROW?!

How did you get introduced to the sport you love?

For me, it was my dad and brother. The best coach I have ever had? My dad. So many people have come up to me and told me how phenomenal of a coach my dad is. I hope someday I can be like him. He has always coached his players to be hard workers and to love the game they play- as a coach, he is everything that I aspire to be. Hopefully as my coaching career takes a new leap tomorrow- I’ll be able to channel some of his coaching abilities.

ONLY. TWO. DAYS. HIW DID THIS HAPPEN?!?!?!

Here I have thrown together a bunch of photos from coaching over the years. Some days I go back and forth between which one I love more- coaching or playing? Let me tell you one thing though- the summer that ladyhawks won the whole tournament? I cried so much - that win was worth more than any win I had as a player (and my sophomore year we won our whole division at nationals!). It was- AMAZING.

Yesterday I talked about how much I love playing but today is about coaching. I will straight up say that when I was applying for the coaching job at gig harbor- I straight up told people “I have never wanted anything more in my entire life”. And honestly, it was true. Getting this job with the Peninsula school district has truly been a blessing- I have never had a more talented or more respectful group of girls. I see big things this year for the Riptides and I can’t wait to be a part of it.

3 DAYS LEFT ON THE COUNTDOWN!!!

This picture is really important to me- it was after this game that I realized I was done with playing lacrosse. At least competitively. However, this feeling of being done didn’t really hit me until I watched OWU play in their season opener- without me.

College prepared me for a lot of my life after college. However- one thing I do my think I could have ever prepared for was no longer playing lacrosse at a competitive level. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE coaching and I am SO EXCITED to have my own team this year with the Peninsula School District, but it’s hard still. The other night I stepped in to play with the PLU team when they were down on numbers at practice and just running up and down the field cradling, I felt like I was flying. There really is something magical about playing the sport you love. It feels natural, it felt right- I was so happy.

With that being said - be careful, you never may know when you will play your last game and your sports career can go by fast. Cherish every practice, every game, every moment with your teammates, even every sprint you run up and down the field. Love your sport and be thankful to play it- those are memories you will carry around forever.

FOUR DAYS LEFT IN THE COUNTDOWN!!! What is your most memorable experience in sports? And not just lacrosse either.

Here is a throwback to probably one of my best memories in lacrosse- in 2011, I made the first ever U15 Washington a state Regional Team.

Going into tryouts- I didn’t think I would make the team- I was just happy to be there. I remember going to get ready for bed and being sad though that I hadn’t heard anything back. Low and behold- as I was in the shower- I heard people yelling downstairs and my sister came up and popped her head into the bathroom to tell me I had made the team. I cried so hard, but only of pure joy. I was the only player from the south end. When I made that team- I started to realize that may love I could play lacrosse at the next level. I still have the paper I decorated to pump myself up the night before hanging above my bed at my parent’s house.

This was such a defining time for me and this trip was one that was a once in a lifetime experience. .

Looking back now- I feel kind of sad knowing that I am no longer playing the game I love competitively. But now, I get the opportunity to help my team and players get one of those defining moments. From PLU to PSD and 253 Lax, along with my individuals - I get to help grow the sport. Here’s to the sport I love! @ Disney's Espn Wide World of Sports

LESS THAN ONE WEEK UNTIL SEASON STARTS!!!! 5 DAYS!!!

This picture actually holds a lot for me.

Anyone who knows me that lacrosse is more than just a sport, it actually runs a lot deeper than that. Let’s break down this picture:

#16 - for those of you who do not know, 16 was my older brother’s number. We don’t always have a ton in common just because of the age gap and gender difference BUT- we always have had lacrosse in common. From me watching all of his games, to him later watching mine. From him handing down the family lacrosse camp to me to him helping me come up with ideas for coaching. I could always pass a ball around with him. My brother Bolton, when it came to lacrosse, was the hardest worker there was and he played the game the way it was meant to be played, he honored lacrosse. I was proud to wear his number with pride.

“Heart and Hustle” - These words are not only my life motto but my dad (and favorite coach) of all time, came up with them. It means be passionate and hardworking and you can do anything. For me as player, as a coach, the harder you work, the better. There is not much more important than having a hard work ethic.

JHL- although he was only my coach for a very brief period, Jim made such an immediate impact. Some of the things I teach my players today I learned from him in that very short period he was my coach. It’s amazing how a great coach can impact your life in such a short amount of time ❤️

SIX DAYS ON THE COUNTDOWN!!

Thought I would stick with a silly photo for the second day of the countdown as well! This lovely photo comes from my first year of girls lacrosse in 7th grade- I don’t know what it is with me and falling but you know- I’m pretty good at it.
