Bucs Walk the Plank in Battle of the Bays!
The Green Bay Packers defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17-14 Sunday at Raymond James Stadium. Despite facing heavy Florida heat and committing crucial fourth-quarter mistakes, the Packers held on defensively to preserve their victory and improve their season record to 2-2, while the struggling Buccaneers dropped to 0-4.
Jordan Love led the Packers' offense efficiently through most of the game, completing 22-of-30 passes for 197-yards and 2-touchdowns.
Love capped off a demanding 16-play, 68-yard drive in the second quarter by executing a 2-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Matthew Golden.
Just before halftime, the Packers took a 10-7 lead courtesy of a massive 58-yard field goal by kicker Trey Smack.
Love extended Green Bay's lead to 17-7 in the third quarter, delivering a 2-yard touchdown strike to tight end Tucker Kraft.
Aside from the Packers win, our Milwaukee Brewers staged a dramatic comeback Sunday afternoon.
Down to their final strike against elite San Diego Padres closer Mason Miller, the Brewers rallied for a breathless 4-3 walk-off win.
Miller entered the bottom of the 8th trying for a rare six-out save with San Diego leading 3-2. After cruising through the 8th, Miller lost his command in the 9th, issuing his first career postseason walks to Christian Yelich and Sal Frelick.
With two outs and bases loaded, 22-year-old outfielder Jackson Chourio lined a 1-2, 101.3 mph fastball past a diving Jake Cronenworth into center field to drive in the tying and winning runs.
This 4-3 Milwaukee win marked the greatest postseason comeback in Brewers franchise history.
The Brewers will try to close this best-of-five series with the Padres and advance in the MLB playoffs with a win in San Diego on Tuesday.
The .500 Packers will take on their 3-1 rival Chicago Bears for an early-Sunday game at Lambeau Field.
