Orlando Fencing Academy fencers Annan, Joanna, and Emma organized the 2nd “Exploring Career Pathways: Meet & Connect with the Pros” seminar on May 2.
While the first event focused on health-related professionals, this seminar highlighted a broader range of fields, including Academia, Legal, Medicine and Technology. Our distinguished panelists included Mr. Caine, Mr. Mendez-Catlin, Dr. Ijlaluddin, Mr. Pugh, Professor Wang, and Mr. Yuan.
We extend our sincere appreciation for their time, expertise, and dedication to inspiring the next generation in their respective industries. We also thank all the participants and hope these seminars play a meaningful role in shaping their future career planning.
Our next seminar will focus on college admissions and will be held in August. More information will be posted on our social media platforms.

Joanna and Christina of Orlando Fencing Academy competed at the May The 4th Be With You tournament on May 2.
Joanna won the gold medal in the Unrated Women’s Foil event and earned her E26 rating. Despite not feeling her best physically, Christina fenced strongly and finished 3rd in Y10 Mixed Foil.
Congratulations to both of these young fencers on their outstanding achievements.

Orlando Fencing Academy hosted the Deland Open 2026 on April 25–26 in Deland, FL. This was the second tournament OFA hosted this season and featured more than 90 fencers competing in three weapons.
A total of seven medals were earned by OFA fencers:

Orlando Fencing Academy hosted a college admissions seminar titled “Dos and Don’ts of College Admission: Understanding Today’s College Admissions Trends” on April 10, 2026. This event was part of an ongoing seminar series organized by Orlando Fencing Academy.
Coach Sung Yim led the seminar and covered topics such as application timelines, admissions strategies, financial aid basics, and what colleges look for in strong candidates. Coach Yim has extensive experience guiding high school students to top universities and has helped seven student-athletes matriculate into NCAA programs.
Our next college admissions seminar will be held in August, with detailed information to be announced soon.

Bull City Y8 RYC/RJCC Tournament (4/4 ~ 4/5)
Five young fencers from OFA participated in this year’s Bull City Y8 RYC/RJCC Tournament held in Raleigh, NC.
OFA fencers earned three medals, including a 2nd‑place finish in Y10 Men’s Foil.
Highlights:
Liam recorded four pool wins in Y12 Men’s Foil.
Jonna narrowly missed both the medal round and her rating by just one touch in Junior Women’s Foil.

Y14 Men’s Foil: 7th place – Shaheer
Y10 Men’s Foil: 2nd place – Ammar
Y10 Men’s Foil: 7th place – Collin
It was also wonderful to see our distinguished alumnus Logan, who will be graduating from UNC–Chapel Hill this May.

OFA fencers participated in the 58th Annual Green Gator tournament over the weekend (March 28–30) at the University of Florida. It was a pleasure to fence alongside our alumni, Michael and Eshaal. This event was another great success for OFA — our team brought home a total of eight medals, including gold in both the Women’s Saber and Men’s Foil events. Congratulations to all our medalists!
Our young fencers will be traveling to Raleigh, NC, this weekend for their final regional tournament. Best of luck to our young athletes:

OFA fencers Emma and Joanna hosted a seminar titled “Exploring Career Pathways: Meet & Connect with the Pros in the Health Industry” on February 28 at 5:00 PM. The seminar was designed for young students interested in pursuing careers in the health industry and provided an opportunity to meet leading professionals in the field. Eight panelists were invited, representing a range of health‑related professions including physicians, nurses, and pharmacists. The event was well attended, with more than 50 parents and students participating.
We applaud Emma and Joanna for organizing this seminar and extend our gratitude to each of the panelists. This marks the first career development event organized by OFA fencers, with more to come in the future.
