Sunday race recap: Solid warmup session that led to good quali run. I qualified p32 out of 66 or so. I’ve been working on getting speed quick in short runs and that was my goal for quali. My prefinal i had a great start but got hit and spun by another driver which sent me to LCQ. Had to be top 14 to advance to the final and ran hard to make that happen. Rain started a little before final so everyone worked quick to get kart reset for rain setup. Once we got on track for final it started POURING. Hard to even see with all the spray from all 44 karts on track. Like many others the heavy rain and spray didn’t help my engine so it slowed me up and front group started to catch up and i had to pull off with just a few minutes left in the race. Overall I’m proud i made the final in my first national race and even though i had some bad luck this weekend my coaches think i ran good pace. Great experience and thanks to @mpg_motorsports @racefactoryusa and especially @kevinemort for all the work this weekend. Thank you to @cariberoyaleorlando for helping me continue to race in this big events. Saturday race recap:

Ryan had fast enough pace Friday in the last practice to put him in the fast group of two in his class of 66 or so drivers. Toward the back of that group - but still great for his first national race. That allowed him to qualify a little later in the day. Unfortunately he got caught in some slower traffic and didn’t get a great qualifying.

Started his prefinal group in 25th position. Again good pace and again some traffic around him. Finished down enough in the group that he had to compete in the last chance qualifying LCQ.

Started LCQ in 6th and just needed to finish in top 14 to make it to the final. He ran strong. Great pace and held his own. Lost a couple spots, gained a couple, lost a couple but stayed strong. Then got clipped by another driver trying to (unnecessarily) pass - spinning Ryan. He kept it off the wall but it sent him waaaaay back in the order. He pushed and had his fastest laps of the session after the incident. But it wasn’t enough and therefore didn’t make the final.

We are all bummed about not making the final. On the plus side - he drove his heart out and had strong pace all day. Kart has no significant damage.

And Sunday is another full race day.

Sunday - warm up at 808, qualifying at 930, then prefinal, lcq (which we hopefully all enjoy from the stands) and then the final.

Spent the day at PRI show - checking out the latest in racing stuff, testing out a new karting simulator, getting measured for a new suit, saying hi to some friends and making a few new connections. Great day and ready to hit the track in 20 days.
