π·οΈπ Itβs official!! We have a new apelido in the house!! ππ·οΈ
We're grateful to have Ar**ha training with us and thrilled to share his capoeira nickname (Ar**ha means βspiderβ in Portuguese).
It was right after the roda ended and Mestre Folclore uses the new apelido while talking about the game that just happened. It caught everyone's attention and immediately everyone knew.
βOhhhβ¦ yeah. Thatβs exactly it.β
"So true! He really is spider-like!"
If you watch him play, you can see it too.
Itβs not about speed or using his stature to overpower the other person.
Itβs something else entirely, and uniquely his own.
His game is strategic, measured, patient.
Heβs not chasing any one down, heβs reading the space, drawing you in.
And before you realize it, youβre caught by a kick or elbow you never even saw coming (from a limb you didn't even know he had)!
He waits for the right moment and then seizes it quickly, sharply, unexpectedly.
Thatβs Ar**ha. π·οΈ
Weβre proud to have him in the Capoeira Guerreiros family and excited to see his webs continue to grow!
π€ Help us welcome Ar**ha in the comments!

Prof Folha Seca is bringing great energy, a big heart, and a little island flavor all the way from Sint Maarten and we are so excited to have him here to play with us. π
Professor PelΓ© | Capoeira Guerreiros | Massachusetts
Prof PelΓ© is a familiar face who never misses our event, a long-time student of Mestre Gaivota, and someone who has made Orlando his home away from home over the years. We love having him here to bring a little extra swing to the bateria! βοΈ
Professor Ray | Melbourne Capoeira | Melbourne, FL
Prof Ray is confident, grounded, and intentional in his game and in life. He has been a faithful fixture at our events for many years and that kind of loyalty means everything to us. We are always glad to have Prof Ray here with us. π€π

Contramestra Nina | Volta ao Mundo | Sarasota, FL
Springy, dynamic, and holds her own in any roda. She plays with you β protecting the game, nurturing it, and helping it grow. That's a rare and special quality, and exactly the kind of energy this event is all about. ππ

We are so excited to welcome Mestre Graveto of Raça em Movimento all the way from Brownsville, Texas to the Capoeira Guerreiros Orlando Batizado & Troca de Cordas 2026!
Some people play capoeira. Mestre Graveto PLAYS capoeira. His game is fluid, creative, and full of surprises, the kind that make the whole roda laugh and gasp at the same time. If you blink, you might miss just how you ended up on the floor.
He brings that same joy to the way he teaches. Capoeira is supposed to be fun, and Mestre Graveto never lets you forget it.
"Se for de paz, pode jogar," and Mestre Graveto is bringing all the peace and all the play. π

Mestre Gaivota Pode Jogar! ππ
When it comes to having a good time, Mestre Gaivota is usually the one leading the way β and we couldn't be more excited to welcome him back! ππ
But don't let that big smile fool you. Mestre Gaivota brings so much more to this event than good vibes alone.
A mestre in every sense of the word, he is a wealth of capoeira knowledge. Whether you're trying to figure out exactly where your hands go in your meia lua de compasso, or you want to learn about the differences between a charanga and a bateria β he's your guy.
Mestre Gaivota is a proud member of the Capoeira Guerreiros family, representing us out of West Orange, NJ, and this year's theme "Se for de paz, pode jogar," is an extension of who he is.

This is, by far, our favorite time of year. Batizado season is HERE. πΆπ
So, what's the big deal? Our students have been putting in the work, not just chasing a new cord, but growing as capoeiristas. In their bodies, their music, their mandinga, their jogo. And it shows. It always shows.
If you've ever been to a Capoeira Guerreiros event, you know the games and energy are always out of this world. That's not an accident. We bring people who love capoeira, love sharing it, and love to play. You can see the joy in their games.
This year is no different. In fact, it's the whole theme:
β¨ "Se for de paz, pode jogar." β¨
A play on a beloved Brazilian saying, it roughly translates to "if you come in peace, you can play" (read: good vibes only).
Whether your energy is overflowing and you're ready to share it, or you need a moment to soak it in, this is your chance.
β
Movement workshops with qualified and passionate teachers
β
Music workshop to help charge up the space
β
A celebration of students' achievements

We're excited to see old friends and make new ones around the roda. Will you be there? π
