Tracking macros: For what?


Happy Monday fit fam🤗 Tracking macros is a common topic of discussion when it comes to weight loss and fat loss or weight gain. Is it necessary to track macros to see results? not necessarily no.. But I will tell you what it did for me and what it can do for you.


Understanding macros helped me to understand the food that I eat, what my body thrives on, what it responds well to if I’m cutting or gaining. I tracked for a long time and it helped me gain insight to my body, it helped me be consistent, it gave me a tangible goal to hit everyday, and I saw VISIBLE NOTICEABLE progress that I could actually track. (I used MyFitnessPal app). It became a lifestyle change instead of a “diet”. Now, a couple years later I know what’s in my food, I know what my body likes, I know when I’m eating enough protein or carbs, or not enough, etc. I see ppl all the time focusing on the wrong things “I’m going to cut out all bread” “I’m cutting out all sugar, no sugar diet” “I’m cutting out all carbs I’m going keto” — one thing common to all those ppl is when I check in on them and their “diet” in a months time, 100% of the time they’ve already back slid or gave up. Because they’re focusing on the wrong things and trying to do too much “dieting”. Being knowledgeable about macronutrients is not a “diet”, it’s an understanding of the food you eat, that’s it.

If you don’t track macros I highly recommend you at least have a knowledge of what they are and how they correlate to the food you eat on a daily basis. Hope this helps !!😘

REAL NATURAL weight gain is 100% possible and doable. I wasn’t unhappy before, I actually worked really hard to get that lean, the more comfortable I became with my body the more comfortable I felt when I would start to see changes

What worked for me??
🔹EATING LOTS OF FOOD
🔹 Staying consistent with my workouts (for the most part)
🔹Allowing myself “treat” meals a couple times a week
🔹Lifting Wright’s in the gym with minimal to no cardio

❗️ABS ❗️

A frequent topic of discussion for women is a lean core. Here is what worked for me & some tips:

1️⃣DIET — this is KEY that’s why I’m listing it first (a diet that consists of lean proteins if you eat meat, chicken breasts, fish like salmon, turkey etc. Healthy carbs such brown rice, sweet potato, quinoa, black beans, lentils for example, and veggies such as leafy greens, cauliflower, carrots apples bananas).
2️⃣HIIT cardio mixed with weight lifting
3️⃣Working in and exercises a few times a week.
4️⃣Personally I found that a lot of oblique exercises helped give my lower stomach that v-taper that I desired. I never wanted abs that pop out super hard core, I always wanted a flat toned looking stomach, and that, along with the other things I listed, worked for me
SN: If you DO want protruding abs that poke out you need to incorporate weights when doing abs exercises

How lean can we get these quads by summer ???
🔶A few of my areas of focus heading toward summer:
- Get my conditioning back up
- Lean out my back
- Lean out my lower body while maintaining as much size as possible
🤙🏾The abs will come naturally

“Be your own goals” isn’t just about body goals. It’s also about using past versions of yourself and the current version of yourself to BECOME your best self. For me it’s about becoming the person I want to be, the person I know I can be.

We are human BEings, not human DOings. You have to live in a state of BEING. BE that person that wakes up early and gets s**t done, BE that person that others want to be around, BE the difference in the world that you speak about. You have to first BE the person you want in order to do the things you want and have the life that you desire🌟
