12 years! Hard to believe, yet so exciting! My actual date of incorporation was 2/17/12, and I officially launched at the end of April that year. In my first year, I enjoyed office space and collaboration with my friends at Odyssey Creative, and from there, I just kept going! It's an amazing, ongoing journey, and I am so honored and thankful for the support I've had from my family, friends, colleagues and clients. I've also had the opportunity to work with some amazing professionals, including Marc Collins, J.D. Casto, Justin Mack, Pam Edson, Tisse Mallon, Louis Richner, and so many others along the way! Here's to the next 12 years!

Celebrating Just Perspective's 9th Anniversary this month! Hard to believe, but it's been 9 years since I launched this video production & legal consulting business. I've now worked with almost 100 different law firms, corporations and non-profits throughout Florida and beyond. I am so grateful for my clients' trust and referrals, and I will continue to do my very best to help them evaluate, strategize and share their clients' stories as effectively as possible!

A good start to the new year for Just Perspective! I got a new client for Christmas, and they had an early January mediation, so it was a pretty quick turnaround, interviewing the family and witnesses involved, but we put it together, and I’m pleased to say the case settled for an amount much greater than they anticipated, which they credited to the settlement video. I spent a lot of time with the family, and I watched the video of their loved one’s funeral service. It was truly a love story about a long time marriage, and one having to say goodbye to the other way too soon. By the time I was done with the project, I told them I wished that I had met the person they lost. And by the time the other side finished watching the video, they knew a jury would feel exactly the same. This is the way.

A bit of job satisfaction today: Checked in with one of my clients to ask about the status of his case. He said that there was a second mediation recently. And they knew they were going to settle when they played the video I had done in their opening presentation "and the insurance adjuster started to cry..." Not the first time that sort of thing has happened. Letting the client tell their story in their own words can really make a difference. Because that's who the jury is going to meet...

Feeling gratified. 2019 is off to a very positive start for Just Perspective. Two large settlements this past week, both pre-suit, and our videos were a significant factor. In one case, the video was praised by the mediator as very impactful on the negotiations. In the other, I received the highest compliment I could possibly receive from one of the family members who had lost a loved one. She simply said, "That video was justice for my mother." Not the money. Their story. This is why this part of what I do is such a privilege. To help families express their grief in their own words, and teach what they've lost to the party that has taken something or someone from them. This is what adds value to the conversation of settlement...

I can never really talk details about my cases, but I do love it when a client calls with this kind of result: after months of preliminary dialogue with the insurance company, out of the blue his case was assigned a new insurance adjuster (it happens). The concern was there would be delays while the new adjuster got up to speed. The new adjuster reviewed the attorney's demand letter and my settlement video. That's it. Cancelled the "introductory meeting" they had scheduled and tendered the full limits of the policy. I had answered every question I knew defense counsel would ask, and had anticipated everything I knew the adjuster would need to understand and evaluate the claim. All before any law suit had to be filed. Helping a family that is going through a horrible situation without worrying about the time and cost of litigation. That's a good day at the office.

5 years old this week. Very, very thankful, and loving what I do!

Hard to believe, but Just Perspective is turning 4 years old! Since leaving the full time practice, I’ve enjoyed working with almost 40 different law firms in Central Florida, South Florida and Puerto Rico. Told countless stories and helped settle and evaluate countless cases. Very thankful for all of my clients, their referrals and their trust. Forward movement!

Preparing for a couple of mediations right now... Last 3 mediations all settled. More firms are asking me to come in and do a presentation on strategic use of video and focus groups!
