This starts with a great Tap duo between Astaire and Hayworth, and then segues into a full group number; which is rarely seen. I so miss this style of Tap. Elegant, precise, musically sophisticated. When I was young I studied with Willie Covan who was the legendary Tap teacher of Eleanor Powell, the very best female tapper of her day. Her technique rivaled Astaire's, and that's saying something. I never got the hang of it. I can fake it OK, but never felt truly comfortable. The only classical male dancer I've seen who can really Tap is Steven McRae of the Royal Ballet. He's amazing in both techniques. @stevenmcrae_ @therobyntodd
