I won't be doing the Tour de France anytime soon 🤣

Here's my Cycling VO₂ max update 🚴 It's been 2 weeks since I did my cycling VO2 max test.

Today’s test came in at 25.1 mL/kg/min.

That’s a 3.4-point improvement — and my recovery markers stayed pretty steady.

This is why I’m tracking more than just the VO₂ max number.

Fitness matters — but recovery, sleep, heart rate, and consistency all help tell the full story.

Follow along as I continue my 12-week VO₂ Max Comeback Challenge.

Here's why my cycling VO2 max is lower than my running/treadmill test...

I thought because cycling uses less overall muscles in the body than running that my VO2 max would be higher cycling.

My VO2 max is 6 points lower with cycling.

I found out my leg endurance for cycling was worse than my cardio fitness. The leg muscles just work differently in cycling than running.

IF YOU DO MULTIPLE SPORTS you should consider getting your VO2 max tested using different methods.

👉 Comment TEST to book your VO2 max test

You shouldn't use HR zones for running for cycling and vice versa. Because you will most likely not be training in the best zone.

Your VO2 max number only makes sense when you compare it to the right group.

Age, gender, and test mode (e.g. treadmill or bike) matter.

Your VO2 max can also be influenced by:
Body Size
Training Status
Effort During the Test

Use these charts as a benchmark.
