GOOD TEACHERS NEVER STOP BEING STUDENTS.
You learned how to teach. Now refine how you teach. Study the body more deeply. Strengthen your sequencing. Expand your understanding of philosophy. Develop your eye. Trust your intuition. Find your voice. Because experience alone doesnโ€™t make us better teachers.
Curiosity does. Study does. Practice does.

In Fall 2027, Shelly Kwiatkouski is offering Advanced Studies for Yoga Teachers at Horizon House Yoga for teachers who are ready to keep evolving their craft. Donโ€™t just teach more. Become a better teacher. Applications are available now www.HorizonHouseyoga.com www.ShellyKwiatkouski.com

THE YOGA SUTRASโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜‚
Nothing says Yoga Teacher Training quite like handing everyone the Yoga Sutras and watching the room collectively realize: โ€œOhhhhโ€ฆ yoga isnโ€™t really about the poses.โ€
Patanjali basically wrote 196 reminders that your biggest obstacle might beโ€ฆ your own mind. ๐Ÿ˜‚ And apparently, the solution isnโ€™t another workshop, a prettier yoga mat, or finally mastering a handstand. Itโ€™s awareness. Discipline. Non-attachment. Practice. Repeat.

Which sounds wonderfully spiritual until you realize non-attachment also applies to being right. Well, s**t. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Welcome to Yoga Teacher Training. We came to learn how to teach yoga. The Yoga Sutras came to teach us. - Shelly K

BEGINNERโ€™S MIND
The first lesson of Teacher Training?
You donโ€™t have to prove what you already know.
You have to become curious about what you donโ€™t know.
Come in willing to question.
Willing to listen.
Willing to move differently.
Willing to change your mind.
Experience is valuable.
But sometimes the most experienced person in the room has to become a beginner again.
Thatโ€™s where learning starts.
Come with a beginnerโ€™s mind.

WISHING I FIT IN.
Funny thing is, Iโ€™ve spent a lot of my life wishing I fit inโ€ฆ while simultaneously doing almost everything possible not to. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I question things. I change things. I say what I mean. Iโ€™m curious about whatโ€™s underneath the obvious. And Iโ€™ve never been particularly good at becoming smaller just to make myself easier to understand. Maybe the lesson was never learning how to fit in. Maybe it was learning how to belong to myself. - Shelly K.

โœŒSarahโ€™s classes unfold with intention often beginning with slow, conscious awareness before gradually building into dynamic, energizing movement. There is a thoughtful rhythm to her sequencing that reflects her understanding of yoga as both discipline and exploration. She invites students into moments of challenge balanced with play, encouraging curiosity, courage, and presence in equal measure.
Deeply influenced by yoga philosophy, including the Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita, Sarah sees yoga as a living practice that extends beyond the mat into how we meet life itself. Her studies in restorative yoga, oncology-informed yoga, and energy medicine inform her compassionate, trauma-aware approach, allowing her to hold space for students navigating all seasons of life. www.HorizonHouseYoga.com

Massage Therapy at Horizon House Yoga
Roger Young and Livia Taravella offer massage therapy at Horizon House Yoga. Their work is a natural extension of what we believe in helping people feel better in their bodies, slow down, release what theyโ€™ve been carrying, and reconnect with themselves. Whether youโ€™re looking for relief from tension, support for an active body, or simply an hour to receive instead of do, massage can be a beautiful complement to your yoga and wellness practice.
Move. Breathe. Receive. Restore. www.HorizonHouseYoga.com

THE SECRET TO LOOKING YOUTHFUL?
Iโ€™m 61, and I donโ€™t think the secret is trying to look younger. I think itโ€™s learning how to stay vital. I meditate not just to quiet my mind, but to cultivate inner spaciousness. I practice yoga to maintain mobility, adaptability and embodied awareness. I sleep because restoration is productive. I study because intellectual curiosity keeps us expanding. I drink water because hydration is one of the simplest forms of stewardship for the body. I eat well not from restriction, but from discernment.

And I practice self-care, but lately I prefer the word self-nurturance. Thereโ€™s a difference. Self-care can be something you do. Self-nurturance is a relationship you develop with yourself. And maybe the biggest one? I keep changing. I refuse to let a number tell me how curious, expressive, playful, sensual, strong, visible or adventurous Iโ€™m allowed to be. Youthfulness isn't the absence of wrinkles. Itโ€™s aliveness. A willingness to keep learning. A capacity to recover. A curiosity about whatโ€™s next. And enough self-respect to take care of the person who's going there. 61 years young. Same soul. More to explore. - Shelly K.

Everything in nature is in motion. Every heartbeat, every breath, every cell carries its own rhythm. When life becomes stressful, demanding, or overwhelming, we can feel out of sync physically, mentally, and emotionally.

At Horizon House Yoga, we believe healing is supported through movement, breath, stillness, and technologies that encourage balance. That's why we've embraced the KLOUD as part of our holistic approach to wellness.
We believe growth requires change. Balance isn't something we find once it's something we continually create. When we care for our nervous system and make space to restore, we become more resilient, more present, and more connected to ourselves.

The KLOUD complements our practice by giving us another opportunity to pause, reset, and support our well-being. Combined with yoga, meditation, and mindful living, it's another step toward feeling your best.
Because transformation begins the moment you choose to create a different frequency for your life.
