Tuesday Thoughts:

Given that today is Uneventful Tuesday, its apropos to highlight the evil quality of complacency. Having coached hundreds of Champions in my grateful long career, I can emphatically state that early success has derailed many future Champions from reaching their genetic potential.

You may think that this statement is odd but let me explain.

Early success can have two polar opposite effects on an athlete. It can make them more confident and hungrier or it can make them complacent because they don't value what they have achieved because it came too fast or too easy. Those athletes who thrive early often slow gradually during the middle of their journey and quit all together in the latter stages of their journey.

Those that struggle early, often gain momentum in the middle stages and flourish in the final stages.

How do you prevent the burn out of early success? It's simple. Be grateful for your genetic blessings that afforded you early success and use that gratefulness to try harder so that your special blessing grows into something amazing.

This Tuesday, no matter where you fall in genetic potential, remember to trust the process and focus today on being better then yesterday. That's a winning day and that's what Champions do! - Coach Rob

Could not be prouder of my client Melva Austin who in only her second show stood front and center on the trophy podium last night at the NPC Tampa HOLIDAY Classic earning her very first win of her Figure career.

Melva is such an inspiration to all of those who have a dream of stepping on stage. At 51, Melva made a choice to defeat the odds. She chased away the doubts and took a chance to chase her dream. Mission accomplished! So proud of you Melva & can’t wait for next season.

What a night for my client Julen Racho Bacon at the 2021 NPC Tampa Holiday Classic. In one of the largest and most competitive shows of the year in Florida, Julie earned two first place titles in front of a National & Pro judging panel, her extremely supportive husband Lenny Bacon, her amazing son Vincent & a large group of close friends.

Julie has been competing at the local & regional level for over 4 years, but in the last year, Julie’s progress has been astounding. Her improvements in 2021 are nothing short of amazing.

Congratulations Julie! I truly am grateful to have had the opportunity to take you to this level. Only thing left is the big National stage in quest of that IFBB PRO Card. Can’t wait to sit from afar and follow your journey as your biggest fan😃

Nothing is more rewarding to me then to help someone realize their dreams & to help them become the best version of themselves. I’m a coach and that’s what coaches are supposed to do. A true coach doesn’t coach for the money. Plenty of other professions pay much much more. We do it because we love what we do and we wake up every morning looking forward to the day because we love living our passion.

Coaches are supposed to be their for their athletes 24/7. Athletes should never have to wait 24 hours for a coaches response. They reach out to you because they need you NOW. Not tomorrow. It may be something as simple as I need extra encouraging words today during prep. I need the right words in the improvement season to like my off season body. I need to better understand how to efficiently and effectively do today’s workout. Thats what the right coach does for their athletes and they do it with compassion, understanding and passion.

Julen Racho Bacon has been my client for over 3 years. I’ve witnessed first hand her incredible drive, her insatiable desire to be a better version of herself every single day, her commitment toward personal excellence & her humble persona, always their to help any physique athlete backstage or in the gym. She’s truly a remarkable woman and a true blessing to this sport.

Last night at the NPC Klash, Julie won the Open A Bikini class in a lineup of exceptional competitors. I’m so very proud of her. Not just because she won, but rather the way in which she competes. It’s not beating another competitor for Julie. It’s beating her previous best and that is what I’m so very proud of.

Congratulations Julie. Thank you for the 3 years that you allowed me to be part of your journey. I’m grateful to have mentored such an amazing woman!
