New Smyrna Quarter Midget Racing Association Dixie Shootout Series is still a go!

🚨We are incredibly sorry to share this update…🚨

Due to the weather forecast for this weekend in Daytona, the Dixie Board has made the very difficult and unfortunate decision to postpone the race. This is not a decision we take lightly, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment this causes for our racers, teams, and families.

Our number one goal is to provide the best event possible, and with the incoming weather, we felt this was the only way to ensure a safe and high-quality experience for everyone involved.

The event will now be moved to our scheduled Dixie Shootout rain date:

✅ The event schedule will remain the same.

We completely understand that this is far from ideal, and we truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support as we work to make this event the best it can be.

Registration Details:

If you are already registered, no action is needed—your registration will carry over.
Registration will reopen for any additional participants who wish to join.

The entire New Smyrna Quarter Midget Racing Association family is incredibly saddened by the recent news surrounding NASCAR legend Kyle Busch.

Kyle has made an unforgettable impact on the motorsports world, inspiring fans, drivers, and racing communities across the country through his talent, competitiveness, and passion for racing.

SATURDAY , May 23rd Race

IMPORTANT DETAILS FOR DOUBLE HEADER

🟨 You will be using your qualifying tires( that will get painted after qualifying )for BOTH features. There will be NO flipping or rotating of your right side tires. RIGHT SIDE TIRES MUST BE USED THE WHOLE DAY.

🟨 Race format as follows:

▪️Practice

▪️Driver/Handler Meeting

▪️Single Car Qualfying by class - Qualifying will be 5 warmup laps followed by 3 laps on the clock.

▪️Feature 1 will be seeded by the Fastest lap.

▪️Intermission

▪️Feature 2 will be seeded by the Second fastest lap.

▪️If a Tie Breaker is needed, your Third fastest lap will determine the outcome for Feature 1 and/or Feature 2 seeding.

🟨 Registration will close Wednesday, May 20th at 7pm. You will not be able to sign up after this registration closed so that we can determine if we will proceed with the double header( 74 cars or less registered) or it will be a regular Race Day Format with 1 set of heats and mains if ( 75 cars or more). This will give us time to inform the members of what format we will be using before Saturday, May 23rd.

⛽️Fuel is 87 Octane and must be purchased from the Race Trac near I95

(3000 FL-44, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168) on race day.

🏎️Track Open/Close: ROGGEN/WHEELER

***Setting up and taking down of canopy in hot chute is now added to open/close responsibilities. Fire extinguishers, Hand carts, Scale Head, Safety Vest, Numbers For Cars.

🏎️Track Blower and Trash Detail ( both families will need to help with both jobs) TRACK WILL NEED TO BE BLOWN OFF IF NEEDED IN BETWEEN FEATURES ALSO.

Beautiful night at the track! These rookies did amazing and were dialed in. We had our past and present rookie directors all out there, which gave us the opportunity to work one-on-one with each rookie last night. It was a successful night, and these future drivers are making huge strides every time they hit the track. Keep an eye out for upcoming rookie training dates! 🏁🔥
