Today marks 14 years since we lost our Chief, Harry Wendelstedt. Harry Wendelstedt dedicated his life to the game of baseball, earning respect across generations for his professionalism, fairness, and deep knowledge of the sport.
Through decades on the field and his renowned umpire training, he helped shape not only the rules of the game but the character of those who officiate it.
The Wendelstedt Umpire School has produced more Major League umpires than all other umpire schools combined.
His legacy lives on in every umpire he mentored and in the integrity he brought to the game of baseball. Rest in Peace, Chief.
