This morning we had the privilege of spending time with the amazing campers at Ormond Beach’s Enviro Camp!

We enjoyed teaching them about kayaking, water safety, and exploring the beautiful waterways that make our area so special. It’s always rewarding to see young adventurers get excited about being outdoors and learning new skills.

A big thank you to the campers and staff for welcoming us. We hope everyone had as much fun on the water as we did!

Even when the sun hides behind the clouds, there’s still plenty to enjoy at Tomoka Outpost!

Overcast days make for cooler adventures, peaceful views on the water, and the perfect excuse to slow down and relax. Grab a snack (like a Cup-ah Cajun), enjoy the breeze, rent a kayak or canoe, or just kick back and take in the beauty of the park. Sometimes the cloudy days end up being the best days.

Florida State Parks are offering free entry for Memorial Day weekend, so it’s the perfect time to get outside and enjoy nature. We’re open today from 9:00am–5:00pm… stop by and see us!

Does anyone recognize these signs? 👀🌴

These signs have actually been part of Tomoka Outpost for a while now. After a hurricane snapped one of the old palm trees near the Outpost, we decided to turn the stump into something fun instead of removing it. Scott and our son Scotty measured out the distances to different spots around the park and made each of these signs together by hand.

For years they stood on that old palm stump helping point visitors toward places like the boat ramp, ranger station, Tomoka Basin, and more. But recently, during one of those quick little Florida micro storms, the stump finally blew over.

We couldn’t let the signs go to waste, so we gave them a new home right here in front of Tomoka Outpost. 😊

Florida State Parks are free during Memorial Day Weekend!

Florida State Parks will offer free admission for most parks from May 23-25, inviting visitors to enjoy the outdoors while honoring those who gave their lives in service to the United States as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary.

Free admission applies to day-use only and excludes Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife, Skyway Fishing Pier, Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center and Weeki Wachee Springs state parks.
